A recent research breakthrough that was published on Nature International Journal of Science has developed a device that can convert energy from wi-fi signal into electricity that can power up wearables. This device is called rectenna. As described on the website:
uses a flexible radio-frequency (RF) antenna that captures electromagnetic waves — including those carrying Wi-Fi — as AC waveforms.
