RE: Bitaddress - Create Bitcoin Paper Wallet Free and instant

Hi @sexualhealing,

Thanks for your hunt. I’ve reviewed it and I’m baffled as to why you would not trust hardware wallets?

What is the key to internet safety? Disconnection. Only that what isn’t connected is safe from being hacked [online]. Cold storage is used by most reputatable people and is utmost recommended.

The hunt is on.

Sort:

Paper wallet is the world's most secure wallet , it is more sure than the hardware wallets .

hardware wallets are not fully offline, u must be connected to the internet in order to manage your funds , transfer .

Hardware wallets are reliable and safe but not safest.

Few people only know about paper wallet. if you generate offline wallet address and private key , nobody can access it without private keys.

you might have heard of a 13 years old boy hackee ledger nano and within 10-15 days ledger nano pushed an firmware update .

Nobody know how hardware wallets are made and what are the chips are used there .

we also heard a news 1/2 months ago that chinese engineers are pushing a spying chip into the computer components .

who knows how hardware wallets are made , and also the hardware wallets are not fully offline , hardware wallets neee exposure of internet and their software interface to move and manage funds .

Exchanges use different type of multi layered , multi signatured based fully offline cold storage , but the hardware wallets are different.

we cant and shouldnot compare exchanges' cold storage with that of hardware wallets .

there is also big risk if hardware wallets are sold unofficially, lots of middleman and companies also sell hardware wallets of reputed companies so there is also risk of being compromised .

For reliable , people use and go with hardware wallet.

but paper wallet is the world's most secure and cold storage . i have been using it since 2017 .

You can not store tokens on paper wallets. Your tokens are still on the chain and if somebody manages to hack your private keys... your tokens will he gone.

With cold storage wallets, your tokens are effectively off chain and can not be transferred to any wallet until reactivate in a digital wallet.

Both paper and ink dissolve and can fly away or be stolen.

Have you seen how difficult it is to hack a Trezor Wallet when the wallet password was lost? There is indeed a weakness to hardware wallets but reputable manufacturers do invest lots of money in having their software, and firmware, audited. There must be a reason why platforms like Binance and Coinbase do make use of cold storage, not of paper.

yes sir you are right, we can't store tokens on it , and the issue of qr code ink is there but we can manage and keep it properly .
and paper wallet is for pro or advanced users who knows properly how to use and manage and keep everything safe .

and untill we import and use our private key , private key never get any exposure of the internet , but on hardware wallets private keys get internet exposure.

If someone has huge bitcoins , security wise paper wallet is the most secure wallet in this world if the user has proper knowledge how to manage and keep secure it , but hardware wallets are also safe till now and we can store some other tokens and reliable to use , but there is risk i think so because hardware wallets are centralized ,

next thing is i know well exchanges never use such hardware wallets , they use fully offline multi layer security and multi signatured cold wallets which is never connected to the internet. And the concept they use is like paper wallet, they dont use hardware wallets at all .
