Hunter's comment

Epihunter is a combination of a headset, smartphone app, and cloud web service that helps people who suffer with epilepsy.

Epihunter detects and signals silent, difficult to notice epileptic absence seizures. We simply turn on a light when the brain switches off.

When users wear the headset, it connects to the app and sends brain activity information. When absense seizure occurs, headset sends a signal and turn the light on the app. Also, their web portal provides more detailed information on the seizure activity. It provides data like lenght and frequency of the seizures.

I read a few comments written by a few users and agree with them this could happen to a lot of epilepsy patient. This one is another good solution I am seeing on SH for epilepsy patients. It's really very serious condition and those who haven't suffered this condition or any of their loved ones, might not understand it.

It is very useful for patients who live alone.

Epihunter is very effective device to stop any untoward incident to epileptic patient. It monitors and warns early to take measures to stay safe. Great Hunt.

It is a very good product. It may be useful. Thank you for introducing me to a good product. I voted to this posting. Great hunting!

The tech will surely provide help for those who have epilepsy. I do hope it also has a feature that notifies the love ones once an epileptic incident happens. Hunters find some good app nowadays. Keep posting, @geekgirl!

That is an interesting device. I actually worked with a child a few years ago that had seizures frequently and this device would have been extremely beneficial. You cannot always tell when or if the person is experiencing a seizure but it would be good to know in the moment so you can adjust how you interact with them. Very cool find.

Interesting, and reminds me to ask: children and others, including myself, sometimes exhibit intractable focus or gaze on an object while in a "trance-like" conscious state. It was most common (>50%) among my peers in elementary school, ages 6-12, and eventually resolved on its own for most individuals, causing no adverse or permanent effects. Is this a form of epilepsy? If not, what is it? It was so common, we had a term for individuals "staring" at something and being "out of it" but "aware" for about 15 seconds.

It is very useful for patients who live alone.
