PureRef is a simple but super useful desktop app. It was designed for artists to keep their reference images organized. It serves as a reference images board that can be viewed in one place. When artists work on a project they may end up using dozens of reference images. Going back and forth among them, or saving on a desktop, or even using other software as a hack can be annoying and less efficient for the workflow. PureRef solves this problem. Its sole purpose is to view and organize reference images and it does it well.
While it is intended for artists, I can see many other use cases for this software. I think everybody can take advantage of what it has to offer. Content creators can use this for organizing their images based on categories and topics. Researchers can keep their reference images and screenshots organized.
PureRef can be installed on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Buyers can pay anything or nothing. Essentially it is free, but developers would appreciate any support.

Organizing images was a harsh activity from the moment we have switch to photography storage on digital medias. We treasure so many moments so we need tools to help us keep them in the right way to be easy accessible in order to remind them from time to time. Otherwise, "dust" will get over them and we'll forget the memories with the dear ones and the reason we have took them in the first place.
handling of those refference images is really hard job for the artists you are right geekgirl the good thing is its free otherwise developers could have suggested big money for this application because of it worthness :)

As long as Digital photography has existed has there been a need for some decent synchronised way to catalogue your own digital media simply and effectively.
I will check this out in the hope it can help me but with the thousands of photos and videos I've taken over the last 20 years, it will need to be good lol.

That sounds super handy. There is something satisfying about having ones stuff very well organized. I would totally use this if I had/used a lot of reference images.
