I really don't know much about AR engines but being open source definitely makes this a really good software.

WoW looks pretty cool AR Engine and i really like it coz it is free and open source in addition it shows Wikipedia, twitter and buzz entries around users in the camera view (AR) which is helpful on top of that it can be used by other applications or even by a website to display any kind of content.
