Typing biometrics auth API - keystroke dynamics as a service. Recognize people by the way they type. It records keystroke dynamics statistics about keys a user presses and turns them into typing patterns.

TypingDNA uses biometric technologies and visual typing pattern as an authenticator. Now the authentication problem will be solved by recording how we type and save our typing patterns. For some people, this is of course sounds scary, but for others, TypingDNA is something worth trying to improve security while doing online transaction.

Interesting idea, I guess you need to look at in a way which isn't supposed to replace passwords and more of another layer of protection. I mean what If I break my hand or get a new keyboard, you'll need a password to override when your typing adjusts. I think this makes sense for the use cases they mention (eLearning, Financial Services) and can see how this could easily be added, but this obviously would be no benefit to some applications which don't require you typing a body of text (they never claimed it would ;))

I had a play around with the demo and does look interesting, they already have some agencies on board so might see this trialled in a few different products.

Nice hunt, and cool to read about.

I couldn't agree more :D

Hi @iqbaladan,

Thanks for yet another hunt. I’ve reviewed and approved it. The hunt is on.

If this can work without a tons of trouble and can really recognize that you are really you this is a genius idea.

Good work

Indeed, this kind of biometrics auth is somehow jaw-dropping and on the other hand, it's frightening ;)

Very interesting idea. I have a question though, what if anyone has a keyboard with some faults and he has to press the keys with more than his normal applied pressure?

Good Hunt, @iqbaladan.

Perhaps the reference is the first type when someone filling in a password, because someone's typing speed is different, and of course a broken keyboard problem affects someone's typing behavior.

I don't want to play, cowboys and indians anymore Bernard; I want their world. The world they've denied us!
