Paper is an expensive resource. Thousands of trees go into making that notebook. Many will argue that we are already recycling paper but not quite. We may always be printing books, magazinesz journals, and thus cutting trees in the process.
A lot of innovation has been happening in developing alternative sources of paper and one such innovation is elephant cowdung. From what i understand its a known thing in uganda. However Elephant Pie is a company that is bringing such sustainable paper to the globe.
The company is looking to crowdfund and aims to bring sustainable paper products made out of elephant cowdung to the world. Products include book marks, business carda and more. Do check them out and contribute.

This would be a massive breakthrough in mitigating deforestation and global climate change. Annually, tons of trees are removed from the forest all in the name of making papers. I hope the funding becomes successful.
True, recyled paper and alternative sources of paper such as these. And some control on animal farming and rearing that is expanding at rapid pace to feed humans.
it's that the case when animals need to suffer because of human stupidity. After watching the video on indeigogo I realized that that situation with the elephants is similar a little bit with the situation on Steemhunt: some hunters (poachers) are trying to get the maximum of money from Steemhunt (Elephant). But possibly when people look at Steemhunt from the remote perspective they can understand that keeping Steemhunt alive (with the help of good posts/comments at least) will give them as mush rewards (or even more) (just like keeping Elephants alive now can benefits ex-poachers).
Very apt. This is kind of similar to the story of the goose that laid golden eggs. Greed of poachers is killing elephants. However, even though they say saving elephants is important, i dont quite see how successful they will be doing so with this. Ivory exports should surely be more lucrative.
