Love the hunt, i belong to an economic class where food isn't a problem. Therefore I order in excess sometimes and the excess ends up in the bin. The ability to spend also makes me eat out most days and that means food in the fridge also goes into garbage. Its not me alone, the world wastes too much food! Increasing the shelf life can probably help in better inventory management and may be lead to a better distribution so that poor countries can also get food.
