I think this depicts quite accurately what the future of personal travel looks like - but I'm not sure it's quite ready today (unless every car/city/location is beaming data into this "Virtual World").

Yes, if every vehicle on the road was transmitting real-time data about their location, surroundings and in-vehicle status (like whether the driver has just entered the vehicle), then the available data allows your vehicle to access the data and "see around corners".

But, without every vehicle being connected to the same system/platform, how could the data possibly be reliable enough to predict anything?

As a concept, this looks amazing, but as it requires everything to be connected to the same data-set, I can't see it being a reality for at least a few years.

it is a very exciting vision though. And it will be available first in the most heavily populated areas (with the most data input points - like connected vehicles). But I wonder whether it'll ever be possible outside major cities?
