It is a leading open source management tool for Postgres, it is the most extensive open source database in the world. It should be noted that it is a web version, developed in Python, which makes it easier for all users.
PgAdmin is happy to report the new version of PgAdmin 4. This new version includes more than 100 new features! It offers a super simple interface that facilitates understanding for the creation, maintenance and use of the database. Although visually it is different and much more striking than the previous version, it still has some very similar functionalities.
You can create, delete databases, consult, create tables, indexes from the Manager!
One of the most important changes is the Dashboard, where you can see all the open sessions, the operations that are taking place ... from each of the servers to which they are connected! Without a doubt, it is a great improved version of PgAdmin.
Another of the most relevant changes is that if you want to access PgAdmin 4 from another computer on the network, you should only do one simple step: enable the variable DEFAULT_SERVER = '0.0.0.0' in the file /usr/lib/python2.7/ site-packages / pgadmin4 / config_local.py.
We cite the most notable changes of pgAdmin 4 v3.0:
"The desktop runtime now runs as a system tray application and uses the browser on the system to display pgAdmin, which resolves numerous errors and problems caused by QtWebKit / QtWebEngine.
The data can now be sorted in edit mode in the query tool.
Keyboard navigation with configurable shortcuts for many operations has been added to allow the use of pgAdmin without a mouse.
Dashboard tables and tables can be enabled / disabled.
The server and database statistics, functions, partitions, external tables and EXPLAIN are now compatible with Greenplum.
Support for pg_service.conf files has been added. "
You can use pgAdmin in Linux, Unix, Mac OS X and Windows to manage PostgreSQL 9.2 and higher.
