The researchers at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution have created a new autonomous robot, the Mesobot.
Targeted specifically for deep sea life, this robot has six large but low-power thrusters that prevent causing much of motion or movement in the water. The LED lights can also switch to red, which many deep sea species can't see.
Furthermore, it also features a pair of stereo cameras for locating target animals so that the robot can follow them as they move and a camera that can record 4K videos.
More detailed specifications and features can be read over here- http://www.whoi.edu/oceanus/feature/mesobot--follow-that-jellyfish

Cool Hunt !
Hello, I really appreciate your effort & Here is my opinion-
It is very helpful to explore the Sea and it has long lasting Battery life and able to Record 4k Videos that will helpful for research.
Thank You & Happy Hunting :-)
This is especially targeted at research, and even if still a prototype on the paper (probably), looks very interesting and as from what it looks (check website) a continuous evolution of the previously developed models.
Yes, it has rather advanced the prototype on paper stage and work has already been started on building this. I just added a video showcasing the development work and another article from the Institute that provides more insights.
Congratulations!
