Balsamiq is a tool for wireframing desktop and mobile web pages or Apps.

The central core of Balsamiq is that it is a rapid wireframing tool, which means that the learning curve to understand this program is shallow, and you can almost start directly to wireframe your ideas.

The most advanced(?) or the rapid way for wireframing would be drawing your ideas on a napkin and in my opinion, the second fast way is to use Balsamiq. The design may look not as appealing, but the main idea behind that is to keep the distraction as low as possible to wireframe fast and be able to sketch the design for your own.

Balsamiq had since a long time ago a desktop version but has recently added also a cloud service, where collaboration is in focus and introduced plugins for google drive and Jira, where the center is the same as for the cloud service.

The Desktop version has the advantage that it is available for Mac and Windows and that the license is not tied to a specific machine but a person. It means that you can use your bought license on your Mac at home and also on your Windows machine at work or on your notebook at the same time or install it at least on all devices.

If you are interested in designing your App or webpage, you should have a look into Balsamiq, as it is effortless to learn and you get high-speed outputs. Speed is essential for development, and we should not have to learn a whole new program to wireframe some pages.
