Launched on September 8, 2018 from San Francisco, System 001 intends to prove the concept of The Ocean Cleanup's technology in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, the world's largest accumulation zone of ocean plastics - situated halfway between Hawaii and California.
HOW IT WORKS
System 001 takes advantage of natural oceanic forces to catch and concentrate plastic. Natural forces move the system faster than plastic, allowing plastic to get concentrated and trapped.

It consists of a 600m long floater that floats and a tapered 3m deep skirt attached below.

Absulutely brilliant idea and great for sea ebvironement, they should make this more and sell to each country and local goverment to protects our sea. We are responsible for our trash and the sea unfotunately becomes the victims.

Utilization of the forces of the nature to save nature ... Very intriguing.
Right step at the right moment is the wise one and this product is definitely the need of the time. We should take necessary actions before it gets too late and we won't be able to do anything to save our occeans/environment.
There is no doubt that plastic pollution has been a menace to our oceans where a large percentage of our food is coming from (maybe not to vegans). This technology is going to solve a big humanity problem as far as ocean pollution is concerned. The idea behind its operation is ingenious. Can I see a better hunt today? I doubt. Great hunt dude!

Great hunt @xabi Let keep the ocean free from debris especially plastic. This great initiative system helps to improve the environment by keeping our ocean clean.
The problem that this system is trying to solve is huge. The amount of rubbish that ends up in the ocean is a disgrace to humanity. I hope this system works, and clean our mess up. My only concern is whether the necessary tests to ensure safety for marine wildlife is considered. Surely it's better than all the rubbish in their home. Nice hunt.

Really cool system we know that it's impossible to decompose the plastic and the only way to beat the plastic is to get rid of it and this system doing exactly the same full marks to your hunt because it's a step forward to make ocean and marine life better. Awesome Hunt
In particular, wastes that should not be thrown into the seas are being discarded, which often causes people to become ill. A product that should be found in all seas and oceans. So the waters in the world will be cleaner. AWESOME HUNT ! :)
