Who sets the price / Open Call for Value Flea Market

Dear Steemians from Vienna, I know that there are a lot of artists here and I also know how hard to sell art and to get the audience. For that reason, one of Viennese Art Universities makes an event — Value Market (18th of May).
Usually, this kind of events are only for students, but this time it's different because it will be Inclusive-Exclusive day in frameworks of a more prominent event when the University goes out. I'm also considering to take part in it and thought to share it with you.

Why is it essential to take part?

1) To meet a bigger audience
2) To sell your art and get to know new people
3) To have fun

Is it a question of value

We are happy to invite all of you to take part in the hufak-fleamarket in the course of the project Oskar nimmt Platz on the 18th of May from 12:00 till 20:00. The general topic of Oskar nimmt Platz that day is “Exclusion included”, where there will be various contributions during that day dealing with that topic.

From the side of hufak this time instead of making restrictions regarding what you sell, we give 1 m2 to everyone and ask participants to take part in a reflection about value systems by considering the following questions:

Who sets the prices for Art?

How much does it cost? Why?

What do we pay for?

Does value divide?

What and who sets values of things and beliefs?

We offer you space to take part with your work on this overarching topic. There are many ways how you can interpret the idea of value, and we suggest that everybody decides on arbitrary and absurd prices for what they sell and involve potential buyers into bargaining and negotiating to define a cost.

Feel free to interpret and re-invent the topic as you wish.

There is no fee for participants, just your willingness to fit and play with the topic.
