Das Oceanário ist eines der grössten Aquarien Europas und erklärt die Welt der Meere. Hinter den mächtigen Glasscheiben entfaltet sich eine großartige Unterwasserwelt. Authentischen klimatisierte Bereiche imitieren globale Ökosysteme. Das Ozeanarium ist lehrreich und stimmt auch zum nachdenken. Es bietet Lebensraum für etwa 15 000 Tiere und Pflanzen aus 450 Arten.

The Oceanário is one of the largest aquariums in Europe and explains the world of the seas. Behind the mighty glass panes a magnificent underwater world unfolds. Authentic air-conditioned areas imitate global ecosystems. The Oceanarium is educational and makes you think. It provides habitat for about 15,000 animals and plants from 450 species.

Das Oceanário war eine der Attraktionen der EXPO '98, die den 500. Jahrestag der Entdeckung des Seeweges nach Indien feierte. Der amerikanische Architekt Peter Chermayeff entwarf diese Gebäude, das von außen sehr eindrucksvoll ist. 2011 wurde es um den Südflügel, mit seiner Keramikmosaik-Hülle die an Fischschuppen erinnert, erweitert.

Oceanário was one of the attractions of EXPO'98, which celebrated the 500th anniversary of the discovery of the sea route to India. The American architect Peter Chermayeff designed these buildings, which are very impressive from the outside. 2011 it was extended by the south wing, with its ceramic mosaic shell reminiscent of fish scales.

Im riesigen Zentralbecken leben Haie, Rochen, Plattfische und Schwärme mit tausenden kleinen Fischen.

In the huge central basin live sharks, rays, flatfish and schools of thousands of small fish.

Das Hauptbecken bildet vier verschiedene Ökosysteme der Ozeane ab (Atlantik, Antarktis, Pazifik, Indischer Ozean)

In der oberen Etage spaziert man durch die verschiedenen Klimazonen hindurch mit deren Bewohnern

In the upper floor one walks through the different climatic zones with their inhabitants.

In der unteren Etage sieht man wie das Sonnenlicht durch das Wasser auf die Korallen, Seegräser und Fischschwärme trifft.

On the lower floor you can see how the sunlight hits the corals, sea grasses and schools of fish through the water.

Es gibt auch noch kleinere Aquarien mit Seeigel, Seedrachen, Korallenriffe, Quallen, Frösche und viel mehr.

There are also smaller aquariums with sea urchins, sea kites, coral reefs, jellyfish, frogs and much more.

Das Oceanário ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert. Der Eintrittspreis liegt bei 15€ für den Erwachsenen.
