4. Vitamin C: It is impossible to overdose on vitamin C. You know that you are “saturated” when it dumps to the GI tract, which causes a loose stool. Generally with children they do best with chews or a powder. Ideally the source would be “corn free” but this is not easy to find. Doses in supplements tend to be very low. Children’s supplements tend to be around 250mg. It may be completely acceptable to give 2 or 3 a day depending on the child. Adult doses tend to be between 1,000mg and 2,000mg however someone may need 5,000 mg a day. Adults may need up to 10,000 to 50,000 mg at onset of illness until saturated.

5. Probiotics: Pill form, fermented foods, kombucha and kefir. Rotate products.

Support of Systems For Active Illness:

Please see above for sick doses of Elderberry syrup, vitamin D, and Briar Rose. All are applicable to all illnesses.

1. Colloidal Silver: Silver has been shown to kill viruses, bacteria and fungus. It has been successfully used in the Air Force to treat MRSA infections. Silver should NOT be taken daily as there is a lifetime limit. It may be taken 3 to 5 times a day for active illness. The silver product that you use should state a concentration of 10 ppm, such as Sovereign Silver or Smart Silver. 3 and under can take ½ tsp per dose, while 3 and over can take 1 tsp per dose. It can also be used topically for skin infections, bug bites, and pink eye.

2. Lithy Tree: Herbal Cough Support

12 yrs to adult

3. Activated Charcoal: Charcoal can be used orally at onset or exposure to stomach bugs. It can be found in pill form and either swallowed or opened into a drink for younger children. It will bind to the organism moving the illness along faster as well as slow down diarrhea. You might see black coming out in the stool which is normal. Once diarrhea has greatly slowed, stop the charcoal as it can cause constipation. Always have this on hand! When a stomach bug hits, the stores that typically carry it will sell out quickly. Charcoal is also great as a paste for bug bites and stings.

4. Probiotics: Use during all illness. During stomach bugs, “sandwich” the antibiotic with charcoal. This means that in active illness when small amounts of fluids are provided, provide charcoal first, then later probiotic, then later charcoal.

5. Coconut Water: Always have coconut water on hand for hydration related to exercise, overheating, and stomach bugs. Coconut water is used in other countries for IV hydration and can work very well orally. Be careful, if you use too much during active illness, you could cause diarrhea.

6. Bentonite Clay: Clay can be used in the same way charcoal can for abdominal illness. It is also great in the bathtub as a gentle detox and mineral supplementation. Clay can be made into a paste with colloidal silver to treat any skin issue including staph infections, bug bites and stings, diaper rash etc. Clay can be used with hives that are not severe or approaching the mouth/ airway. Leave on until dry then remove with water or a wet cloth. May be repeated hourly for things like brown recluse bites.

7. Manuka Honey: This honey is very expensive. It is the go to in treatment for MRSA and staph skin infections as well as severe bites such as brown recluse. In these instances it is worth the money. After a clay and silver pack, apply honey until next pack. May be repeated hourly for severe bites, otherwise 2 to 3 times a day, with one of those being prior to bed.

Great recommendations, resteemed so others can learn how to take control of their health.

Welcome to steemit. I wish you the best. Don't be discouraged by the lack of engagement so far. It will come. I am going to resteem this post to get some extra eyes looking at it. Good luck.

Thank you! If you have any tips please let me know. I shared this blog post on FB and it went viral of course. I just don't have much traction here yet!

This place is a little different. Sometimes posts get lost in all the traffic and what time of day you start your posts. Just experiment a little on the timing. Also, check out and follow a couple of people that have similar interests, @canadian-coconut and @markwhittam. Comment on their posts and interact with that group that follow them. They will then see what you are about and will jump onboard with you. You will be dynamite, I'm sure.

Thank you so much for suggestions on who to follow in the same arena. Very helpful at this point. I feel a little lost! Following you as well!
