When visiting a country I always look for authentic, home-grown products. One such product in South Africa is a shoe which is made from animal hide and is attached to the sole of the shoe without tacks or nails. This is the "Veldskoen".

The Veldskoen has been around for hundreds of years and is still a very popular type of shoe. Not only is it extremely durable, but is comfortable - warm in winter and cool in the summer. This clip introduces "the Veldskoen".
