How to sell more using social networks

When social networks became known, I thought of three things: it's a waste of time, I do not have time for this and my clients are not here. I was wrong on all three points. Social networks are vital for your business.

All can help you to grow the perspective of the brand and your profits. Today, companies have more than 5 million views on YouTube, have accumulated 300,000 followers on Facebook and another 275 thousand followers active on Twitter. Like you, I started without followers and with very little faith in these platforms.

Here are seven things you can do to help you have a greater presence and followers in social networks:

  1. Take the first step. The most important thing is to start, and fast. You do not need to know anything to do this. Create an account and propose to publish content. That is all! Nothing will happen if you do not start. Millions of people use social networks around the world, which is proof that it is not complicated.

  2. Publish frequently and keep publishing. There is nothing like publishing too much. There are "experts" out there who discourage frequent publications. They think that if you publish so often people will stop following you; but initially, you have no followers. The only way you will gain attention is through perseverance.

Those who stop following you because you publish too much are not part of your market and in any way they will not buy you anything. If people are not complaining about the amount of publications you do, you are not publishing enough. In three years, I published more than 1,200 videos on YouTube, the social network that, according to me, is one of the most powerful. That's almost 400 videos a year.

  1. You must be the expert celebrity in your space. Post content that the expert makes in your space. Think in terms of providing information based on what you know and the service your business or product offers. It offers advice and ideas on how to do it, how not to do it, what to avoid, how to find the best, what the best does, how to fix it or repair it and what you should know. If you work in a dry cleaner, it publishes everything you should know about cleaning clothes, removing stains and fabrics, for example.

  2. Make the planet your goal. Unlike traditional marketing, social networks allow you to have a global reach. In the beginning, you want the attention of whoever it is. I have followers in China and India who may never buy my books or sales training programs, but can share my content with someone who may become my client. Understand from the beginning that anyone can see your content and be inspired to take some kind of action.

  3. Create varied content. Use all forms of possible content: videos, photos, articles and blogs, taking the content of others. Sharing content is the easiest way to get more followers quickly. By sharing the content of the competition or another expert, giving them the credit they deserve, you will gain followers who follow them

  4. The 80/20 rule. 80 percent of your content must be non-promotional information. At first, maybe you should change that to 95/5, where 95 percent is information. Nobody will approach you because you published something promotional if nobody is even following you. You must obtain an audience that wants your content. The more followers you have, the more promotions you can increase

  5. Do not delegate at the beginning. No matter how important your position is or how busy your agenda is, you must own your presence on social networks.

I run three different companies and even then I find time to publish daily because I understand the power of the media. I also support all the marketing department that are young people with knowledge in social networks, but none of them knows more about my business than me. They help create and promote promotional content, but I use my own voice.

You must be authentic. Many brands forget this. No matter who you are, how old you are or what you do, these means can be very good for your brand and your business; but first, you must start and get a follower.
