After further research, I am ready to present you with the material related to spam on steemit.

Here the remote place where I found this image.

I'm sure you'll say, if I already know what spam is'; all right, but if you're here, it's because you're looking for some answer to the concept of spam.

They may be interested in the source.

The universal concept of spam is "spamming multitude", but historical records will give us the basis for a concept of our own worthy of being found in steemit.

Source.

Back in 1937 - there was no certainty of being born - there was an American company whose national and international trade was based on the manufacture of canned meat. The name'Spam' refers to a variety of canned meat produced by the American sausage company Hormel Foods; specifically this product was launched in 1937.

Source.

Today, Hormel Foods not only sells canned meat; the spam brand has diversified and we can find a wide range of canned meat products, chocolates, jewelry, sausages, pots, toys, dolls, pencils, bags, backpacks, notebooks, prints, stuffed animals and clothing. The spam brand has its own website:

What a museum!

Furthermore, there is a historical museum that houses all the spam products that have been on the market since 1937. You can access the official website of the museum by clicking on the link in the image:

Museum "Spam"

If you like canned meat, it's the Spam Museum, its specialty is canned meat; it's located in Austin (Minnesota, USA). The Canned Meat Museum is located right across the street from a canned meat production plant and slaughterhouse, which allows visitors to learn about the history and cultural meaning of this common American meal, while also getting some souvenirs to take away and enjoy.

American soldiers.

A curious fact: during World War II, American soldiers were fed on the diet of the famous spam'. And so we ask ourselves, why is something as influential and practical as spam' so hated on social networks today? We will return to this concern below. In 1937, Hormel Foods Corporation (USA) began selling minced sausages made from expired meat. The Americans refused to buy the product. To avoid financial losses, the company's owner, Mr. Hormel, launched a massive advertising campaign that ended in a contract to supply canned meat products to the U.S. Army and Navy. I didn't get any information on how he did that, legal or illegal, but it was such a production, that the product "spam" invaded the allied countries in Europe and Asia...

Source.

After the end of the war (1945), the product'spam' was marketed with Great Britain, spam became one of the few meat products that was not rationed and was therefore easy to obtain.

Source.

In short:'Spam' is an acronym derived from the words 'spiced' and'ham'.

Source.

Anecdote: George Orwell, in his book "1984" published in 1949, described spam as "pieces of pink meat", which gave new meaning to the word "spam": something unpleasant, but inevitable.

Original YouTube video version

In December 1970, the BBC TV comedy series "Monty Python Flying Circus" showed a scene of a cafรฉ in which almost every menu item included spam, canned meat. The same host recited the menu full of SPAM, while a chorus of Viking customers choked the atmosphere with a song that repeated: "Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, beautiful SPAM, wonderful SPAM". This fact marks, one might say, that they were "spamming" the dialogue. Since then, the word "spam" has been associated with the idea of "unwanted, intrusive and excessive - abusive - information". Above, I left the link to the immortalized video on YouTube.

Source.

In 1993, the term "spam" was introduced for the first time to refer to unwanted mass e-mails. Richard Dephew, administrator of Usenet - an Internet discussion system distributed worldwide - wrote a program that mistakenly caused dozens of recursive messages to be released in the news.admin.policy newsgroup. The recipients immediately found a suitable name for these annoying messages: ๐•ค๐•ก๐•’๐•ž.

Source.

Commercial spam dates back to 12 April 1994, when the law firm Canter and Siegel first sent out spam on a massive scale. The company's programmer used the Usenet software to advertise the services offered by the renowned law firm.

Source.

Today, the word "spam" is used almost exclusively in social networking terminology; although Hormel Foods' canned meat products are still sold worldwide.

Source.

Along the way, I also found a company whose logo advertises the word "spam" as "Pre-hospital Health Care Services" in Spanish. Who would have thought that....

Interesting journey through history, isn't it? At present, we are ready to broadly define spam in social networks, as it is our interest here at steemit:

"Spam" is everything that seeks to obscure important information for the user of any social network; it is everything that is published en masse in order to influence the user positively or negatively. The user is a spammer and may be doing so consciously or unconsciously.

Source.

Imagine that you are a little fish in search of food and that along the way you find advertisements indicating different ways to find that food, you find one, two, one hundred, thousands..., those advertisements, messages, photos, etc., that distract you from the true path, represent spam.

Source.

Are you a spammer, I'm sure that at some point during our time on the different social networks we've been one without knowing it, but it's not a bad thing to die, the important thing is to recognize that the voluntary or involuntary activity of publishing repetitive comments - copy & paste -, worthless comments, comments out of context, irrelevant photos and images, as well as making repetitive and worthless posts, represent spam. "Spam," it's also those memos we send out with transfers of $0.001 begging for favors. If I understand, do bots that do that also commit spam? without thinking twice: they abuse - at least they send those thousandths of a dollar hahaha... -, but they commit "spam".

Source.

In steemit, this is also motivated by the misconceptions with which many of us are brought to this social network: "You get paid to publish, write any silly stuff or post a photo", "Publish anything, but do it every day and the more you publish the better""Find followers to vote for you, etc.".

OBJECTIVITY OR SUBJECTIVITY IN THE FACE OF SPAM

Source.

Now, is spam objective or subjective, because let me tell you, it's up to you. I, for example, found "advertising spam" on Facebook that I used for a project a couple of years ago at the right time, and I imagine others have done the same for them. When the advertising message becomes invasive - as is currently the case with YouTube - it becomes annoying, but I insist, it depends on who receives the spam. A few days ago, watching a YouTube video, another electronic music video jumped out that caught my attention; here comes the game of psychological marketing. Depending on your mood, a message that is annoying and abusive for one person; for another person it is something that fits their finger at that moment.... For many steemit users, a message like "good post" can mean the stimulus they need to keep improving their publications, for others it is annoyance.

Source.

At this point I will conclude: Steemian friend, prepare material that identifies with your tastes and preferences and that you can handle when they comment and ask you questions. Create comments that enrich the content of the post you're commenting on by reviewing how the author reacted to previous comments, reviewing the author's profile, giving you an overall idea of who he is and how he likes to be commented on. In case you don't find something to comment on, your vote will be enough, and be prepared for the next post by that author so that you can be one of the first to make a good and successful participation.

CONSCIOUS SPAM OR UNCONSCIOUS SPAM.

Source.

You'll say, "Whoever commits spam does so consciously!"; we are far from reality. Committing conscious spam is relative to doing it with intent, whether it is good or bad; but if you commit spam for lack of information and knowledge, then you are doing it unconsciously.

"Let's throw the first stone" for anyone who hasn't committed unconscious spam on steemit or other social networks.... We've all been new to steemit. I invite you to read the comments of eighteen months ago made by those who today hold reputations older than (65) or (70) and will laugh as they read the same expressions as the new and not-so-new ones we make in our comments; and even more absurd than ours. Read the posts that those same authors published at the beginning.... We have all been new at one time or another. Let's see, who in the University was not raised in the dining room, when the cutlery fell to the floor - new, new, new, new, new - after the first semester you did the same thing with the newly admitted...

Source.

In conclusion, we've all been spammers at one time or another on steemit and we'll be doing it unconsciously on other social networks, and we did it for lack of information, for eating the story that we'd get money for anything we post or comment on...

Source.

Therefore, I urge all those who welcome new users in their post introductions to read instructional material on how to behave in steemit, how to prepare their post, how to make comments, how to make healthy and non-parasitic coexistence, how to climb the pyramid without harming the one next to you, who can rather help you to climb the step you have already overcome.

Indeed words change. Spam was one of them. I think of 'Cool' and 'Bad' as another. They can flip and mean the opposite of their original meaning. Weird how things progress. I never cared much for either spam. Thanks. @amigoponc

I happened to love spam as a child, my husband is from the Netherlands, both our families were poor and we both ate spam once or twice a week. We don't eat spam anymore because we know it is not good for us, but I have fond memories of the mystery pink meat...lolol

I try not to create spam articles but I am guilty of making quick and thoughtless comments because I'm tired and or lazy...hehehe

No my friend, you're fine, I love your post, it's encouraging, entertaining and educational. Thank you for being here, your comment is very supportive of my post; for me it is a source of pride that you read me. Prosperity and Blessings. Thank you, friend.

Neither do I, but seeing the world as it is, has taken charge of my own actions, and therefore, I will not publish any content until I have thoroughly researched it, in order to have the necessary elements to publish a good work, that informs, that educates, that enriches. Thank you for coming all this way. Prosperity and Blessings.

I wasn't ready for so much intelligence and thoughtful writing. Hahahaha!

Spam the mystery meat is cheap to eat but does not improve one's health.

Same goes with posting cheaply made posts and comments.

That's the idea, my dear fellow. Thank you again for sharing with me....
