Hackathon has Begun -- Steemfest2 has (unoficially) Begun!!!
Hackathon has begun!!
Hey Steemians!
The (unoffical) first day of Steemfest has started! After a quick introduction by @roelandp, and intros by the blockchain representatives and quick pitch by hackers, the gathering of the best hackers within a 500ft. radius have gone chop chop to wizarding things on the computer!
The Hackathon is held in LX Factory in Lisboa, The place is packed with almost 80 people all with fresh ideas vying to have fun hacking (and maybe win the attractive price of a nearly combined 4000++ USD price pool).
Im not a coder or hacker myself, so im walking around looking at these awesome people coming together to create something truly special.
@roelandp (as always) has pampered everyone with non-stop food and beverage catered through breakfast lunch and even dinner for the hackers. As Malaysian, food is something im very partucular about. It's why im here.. hahahaha...
Great job with the arrangement and i can say all of us present here is very satisfied about it.
The ideas presented here are truly magnificent, you can watch the livestream on the 3rd day for their prepped and finished product, but from what i have heard so far, there's some awesome stuff being worked on.
Had a chat with a great many Steemians i've met for the first time. Imagine just telling your username and an apparent stranger instantly turns to an acquaintance. Not many things can compare to that feeling.
@jerrybanfield, with his unfortunate jet lag as he hadnt had any sleep before coming to the hackathon. @blocktrades or Dan, who is here to look around and hang out like myself. @antonchanning and @dana-varahi who traveled all the way from Scotland and has a great idea for Hackathon, @roxane and @oroger who has teamed up with @anomadsoul and @martibis for something alot of us will probably use.
There's so much more people here and there's not enough time for me to list them all out.
What is true though is that you can expect great apps from today's Hackathon.

You're welcome! It was a great experience, seeing these hackers at work really opened my eyes (and perhaps many those who are present there) to how they get together and get things done.
I'm excited to see how the products developed during this hackathon will help us all.
