Benefits of Joining the FOOLs' Party

Daily Post # 20 in a 50 part series leading up to 4/1/17

The benefits of joining the FOOLs' Party fall into various categories of needs we will help people meet, including intellectual, emotional, spiritual, social, health and security. Thriving in all of these is the goal.

Almost all humans, up to a few thousand years ago, lived in tribes which took care of all the above, for those willing to commit to the tribe's "operating system" during a rite of passage. The oral history and rules of thumb going back thousands of years worked and were the prize possession of all members of the tribe. They didn't need epistemology, philosophy or ethics. They didn't need jobs, angst or suicide. They also didn't need modern total war, though their was raiding. Much of what we think we know about tribes is colored by their conflicts with encroaching civilization during the last few thousand years, where they had to defensively band together, under Big Boss type leaders. Civilization has definitely led to many great things, which we don't want to give up, but there has been a trade off in psychopaths domesticating and farming the masses.

Organizations are an attempt to fill the gaps left by the loss of tribe. Even the family is artificial, but all the structures -- guild, marriage, religion, local government, friends and clubs only work for those who diligently nurture several of these structures simultaneously. And many of these are under attack. Highways make it easier to move from your home town. College is expected, the further away the better. You don't want to be a "townie". Religion, is mostly deservedly seen as a joke. Jobs change often. Moving and swapping out friends is common place. Always juggling, always uncertain, never able to count on any one of these structures, or the also juggling isolated people in them "having your back".

Tribes, however had smaller units in them that were analogous to mitochondria, the powerhouses of the cell, and that is the hunting party. Today we emulate that with sports teams, rock bands and startup companies. Men have a primal need to bond and work with, and almost become a "psychic" group organism with other reputable capable trustworthy partners.

The FOOLs' Party intends to allow humans a new opportunity to thrive, without giving up technology, by gamifying rapid evolution in experimental micro-tribes that are designed to meet ALL basic needs. Not to become another fake tribe to juggle. "Taking the RAPP" is one idea for the core of the "operating system". Setting up a blockchain powered Mutual Aid Society in which the governance is done, not by a throng of individuals, but by tested, reputable, bonded small teams.

@dan (Dan Larimer) was working on Mutual Aid Societies in the brainstorming that led up to the creation of Steemit.
