Steemit is like a Drug
Introduction
The first thing I do before starting my journey is to check my voting power and answer my comments. It is like a ritual I am doing it every day!
I try to make this social network one of my steam of income and invest a tremendous time on it.
Consistency
I have seen many folks come and go on Steemit and most of them felt discouraged or found it too complicated. If you want to have success, you need to make a habit to repeat the same action over and over.
It is the same as going to school or going to work.
Steem coffee time
The first thing you should do is to take a nice coffee before checking your Steemit. Your brain is going to make an association between the smell of a good coffee and the sexy Steemit website.
For my part, I need both!
Focus
In life, if you don't have the focus, you cannot accomplish what you really want to be done. In the case of Steemit you need to at least comment or post a good article/picture.
Every time you post, you increase your chance to gain followers or make money.
Last thought
Make the habit to post daily on Steemit or at least comment for a chance to grow your account. Without any action, you will become a dead fish in the ocean.
Take a good coffee and log on Steemit each day!

True, coffee gives the needed refreshment to our mind and mood and it always good to move towards our work or passion with good mood and refreshed mind because that way we can work effectively and also we can produce something good.
Steemit is tough, not because it's impossible but because you have to spend lot of energy and thought to increase engagement through your content and comments and many fail to do so because sometimes after putting lot of efforts we fail to get result but we have to understand that it's not easy but it's not impossible too.
In life no matter what, we need focus because that way we can become consistent and only pure hard work and consistent will push us forward in life for sure.

I don’t understand why people don't understand this. Crypto isn’t a get rich quick scheme its going to require work.

It can be obsessing and fun to hang with if you get a hang over it!
For me it is like a video game, every reputation level is a challenge and motives me to post more!
