RE: What are you thinking about the current state of Steemit?

in #steemit5 years ago

Any platform needs to have a positive user flow. New users must come in to replenish those who have left.

Even though it is decentralized and it embraces the blockchain to make it so, Steemit is not exempt from this.

As you said, it is possible that Steemit will never be accepted by the masses — that it is destined to remain a niche site. While others may disagree and claim that Steem is the way of the future, the point is that in either model, a positive user flow is necessary.

This means that USER EXPERIENCE becomes of paramount importance. To be honest, as you pointed out, just establishing an account can be a hassle for many. The learning curve regarding best practices on the site is steeper than what most people are used to experiencing.

If the Steem blockchain is able to develop a steady core audience consisting of consumers of content as well as creators, if the number of Dapps powered by Steem draws in innovators, expanding the scope and reach of Steem — then, I feel, the future is bright.

If not, it will become a platform constantly shifting in the driving forces that affect its destiny. One day pushed by speculators, another by those seeking to game the system for quick profit, and eventually into oblivion.

Maybe it's my optimistic nature, but I feel that the former will prevail.

Fantastic reply, you seem to get it.

My main incentive to stay on steemit as the silver& stacking community #steemsilvergold which is a positive community that always have a flow of community projects and community engaging projects. If steemit was to just add in a few extra features in terms of user experience and being able to arrange content better, i think it would do much better. Not really more people joining up but less people leaving. I will watching dapps and SMT contracts when they are released soon.

Thank you for your reply,

Right now, the quick profitteers sort of jumped out to green pastures...this is not new. That might be difficult to stop although the difficulty to register is harder now than before. This have greatly increased the hardships of new users that might contribute to the success of the steem blockchain.
But what we have right now are serious bloggers, well the majority, that are aiming for the success of all and working on it. That and the dapps make one hopeful.

I dont understand why the joining process takes so long, i use my @steemcryptosicko account to claim accounts with RC, i have no use for them at all expect to give them away but how do i even do that? I dont think i can so now i have almost 20 claimed accounts that can used to instantly join up while other wait days and days to get confirmed. It's madness

That's the thing, isn't it? No matter how we promote steem if joining means shedding tears and blood to have an account... have meager payouts for quality blogs...
I have faith in the steem blockchain and its' potentials but there is a mountain for the momentum to overcome...
