You can go to Alexa rank and check steemit.com rank but it doesn't give you any more details on steemit website growth.
Here are some pictures showing how fast steemit website is growing.

What does this picture tell?
It shows us the amount of traffic comming from google search engine and for August 2017 it has been 69,398 having over 402k keywords with an estimated traffic cost of $42.1K

Now here is the main part. The total traffic on steemit.com which includes direct traffic, referral traffic, social media traffic and search traffic.
In April 2017 total traffic was 838.3K views which went upto 1.9M traffic in May 2017 and upto 4.3M traffic for June which is an increase of +127.53% from May to June.
