It Finally Happened... No Vote ~ No Response ~ No Refund From The @hellowhale Upvote Bot...
I will usually throw a couple SBD into up-vote bots, not necessarily for the profit motive, but more to at least give the appearance that my posts are doing well. Occasionally I do make a couple bucks doing it, so it's sort of like the Vegas slot machines - they let you win just enough to keep you pulling the lever...
Now after many, many times using up-vote bots, and for the first time ever, the @hellowhale bot didn't give a vote, didn't reply to my messages, and didn't refund my payment. It's been 5 days since it happened and I have left several messages on their last post, so far with no reply.
I guess its time to call em out in a post...
I think it was actually my fault - I sent Steem instead of SBD, and to top it off, I didn't send the correct amount. None the less, they should refund the payment, my fault or not.
I left two messages "so far" and will probably leave another tomorrow...
It appears that i'm not the only one though, there are a couple other messages in their last post basically stating the same issue I had. I don't know if the others have received replies or refunds, and I haven't messaged any of them to find out - so I wont screen shot their messages until I find out...
Bad press tends to create action and I hate to do it but...
Unfortunately, there are always scams when it comes to money. Sorry my dear that this happened to you.

loosing a couple bucks wasn't really a big deal - I was just a little pissed that they never even bothered to reply - they could've at least replied with a piss off or something... I did my part to let people know anyhow... Will do Dr. TLK - steemin on... :)
Oh that sucks, @drdave!! I hope you get resolution to this matter soon. Yeah, sometimes it feels like a crap-shoot using upvote bots. It's a terrible investment profit-wise, but sometimes necessary when you are trying desperately to get visibility to a post. So very much noise on Steemit lately. It feels different to me.
I'm not sure with these guys - customer service doesn't seem to be too important too them...
Your absolutely right about the "different feeling lately" - I don't know what it is or why its happening but I notice it also - there's seems to be a darkness on the horizon... I guess we can all only keep being cool - and your one of the coolest @crystalize, so we got nutin to worry about...

Hah! Well we ARE awesome, what can we say? LOL. Yeah, I'm right there with you. Hard to put a finger on it but it is certainly a feeling. Looking at the trending feed is a certain no-no if one wants to keep a healthy perspective on contributing quality content. A bit more spam, a lot less attention from the followers. There's something to it. But yeah, head down and keeping the faith. Steemit needs folks like us.
LOFL... Ya know I haven't looked at the trending page in months - just pisses me off so I don't even do it anymore... I sorta feel guilty upping my own comments even, but the guilt passes with every payout... Lol...

I have already marked @hellowhale as red. It has given the lower votes as of the bid that doesn't even return your investment. I didn't bid on it by the way. Just observed its previous votes.

I use bots all the time and I usually don't pay a lot of attention to whether or not there's profit or loss - this is my first total loss so it kinda pisses me off.
I do have a favorite though - @ipromote tends to give a surprisingly high vote for relatively small send...
I am new here and I don't want to be in lose so I first look at their previous votes then bid on them Lol That's my secret. So far so I found @boomerang is good going.
I practically never use upvote bots, I did use them 2 days ago, 3 of them, because I had set a goal to reach level 58 that day, and despite posting and commenting that night I knew I wasn't going to make it, so I used them and it worked, I really didn't even notice if I got a profit from the upvote as that was not my aim.
I use bots quite often without problems. Even when there's been a problem with the bot and I didn't get the vote, the operators have ALWAYS given me a refund - until @hellowhale... Luckily it was a very small amount so not too damaging ...

Bro I totally feel your pain.. about a month ago maybe a bit less I transferred 15SBD which I REALLY couldn't afford to lose as my contests are pricey, none the less I wont mention who it was either as I am not in the business of disparaging or embarrassing anyone but long story short I sent at around 15 hours to pay out and I was refused a refund, I was so mad/dissappointed even which meant too I had to basically put my other 3 contests on hold. None the less I see now most of them are now only accepting votes 3-5 days and less. Anyways I love it here always will as long as it carries on the way it is.. One question though is you two said there is a 'noise' on steemit negative undertone?? In what way I don't really feel or have witnessed that? Cheer$;) PS: Thanks again for imsteins prize bud..
