Involved in Prostitution!

Generally people do not enter prostitution voluntarily, whether it is legal or not. The majority of women, children or even men in prostitution seek to leave it. Sex trafficking does not only refer to forced labor in prostitution, but also forced labor in pornography and strip clubs, which are legal in many countries. I believe that no one enjoys being a prostitute, even if you find one who may say otherwise.

There are different types of prostitutes:

• Private prostitutes
• Street prostitutes
• Female escort prostitutes
• Male escort prostitutes
• Massage parlors
• Survival sex
  etc..

Many had great interest in sex before becoming prostitutes and saw an opportunity to make money through sex. The most of them have to pay for food, rent, holidays and help their families; while others must pay for their drug abuse. A prostitute might earn about 5000$ monthly in big countries, while in small countries that amount can be earned yearly. Many of them dont have regular STD checkup, dont use condoms and need to pay attention to the emotional needs as much as the physical satisfaction of their clients. They have to be with 30 men or women everyday without getting a penny.

Human trafficking victims experience imprisonment, get beaten between rapes, get forced to take drugs. It affects their self esteem and grow up not feeling worthy of anything except being slaves. Many of them are held against their own will, used and abused whenever the abuser feels the need for sexual gratification. It leaves a permanent mark of injustice and unethical things happened to them and takes much time to repair the damage done them.

I heard many stories lately of agencies sending people to work in other countries. They are available in every country and making billions of dollars. They offer them jobs as waiters, coiffures etc, but once they reach there, everything becomes a nightmare. The victims are humiliated,exploited and mistreated. They lock them up in small rooms, scared to death. Get raped continuously for some days and forced to work as prostitutes. Very few of them get rescued or get a chance to escape.

People are not voluntarily entering prostitution, there is still a high demand for sex trafficking. And there are all sorts of situations in which a person might decide to become a sex worker that have nothing to do with their childhood. But street prostitutes, however, draw another picture: they are not in the business for the sex but to deal with problems such as drug abuse.

While there’s no doubt that money is the primary reason for the women becoming prostitutes, child abuse is often regarded as an other reason for prostitution. To be in the wrong family or among the wrong people can lead to such consequences. But it remains slavery and no one would choose that for themselves. It can be very dangerous as well when they have to deal with abusive customers who are seeking sexual experiences in the bondage and discipline or sado-masochism range. They can get hurt or even killed, even if they see the positive reasons like money or the short working hours.

Educated people with a variety of career options and choices do not choose prostitution as a profession. They always have different choices and a good lifestyle. But thats not always the case! Many teenagers and young people are lazy to work and prefer prostitution as a short cut to make money and live in luxury.

Prostitutes are exposed to dangers and sexually transmitted diseases, rejection from the society, drug addiction and unwanted pregnancies.
