The Truth About The Trending Page

For most Steemians and mostly Newbies, the trending pages feels like the impossible. They dont understand how the trending page works and how to get their posts on the top. Many angry users who feel frustrated and others who are blaming voting bots or the system. I hardly ever look at the trending page myself, as I prefer the hot page or my feed. On the trending page you see mostly the same authors that had numerous posts on there and getting upvotes from the same whales. As a minnow to get an upvote from a whale can be a bit difficult.

However if you do trend, you have a higher probability of trending again. All you need is time and effort. You need to be yourself and present interesting topics. Maybe come out with new ideas and express yourself via blogs or videos. You need to work through every failure and keep pushing yourself. Building reputation and trust takes time, so you need to work on that and have many genuine followers.

The way this platform works is that the posts with the highest value upvotes, appear on the Trending page. So you need a minimum of $100 SBD in paid upvotes in order to get to there. And you need to get high value upvotes within the first 24 hours of posting to end up in the trending page, which can be difficult sometimes as the competition is high. You can invest some money and use paid upvotes to make your post visible, but there is no grantee.

When users come to steemit the first time, they just see the top earning content on the trending page and think this magical platform is going to pay them just to create content. But which content is really needed here! There should be another way to discover good content, as the trending page isnt giving any advantage lately. And finally I think the best posts are found in our feeds, by the quality content producers we choose to follow.
