What benefits does high steem power bring me?

Firstly, powering up your high steem power makes you have more influence on the steem blockchain. You gain more power and advantage just like other whales on Steemit.

Secondly, you are able to increase your payout value just by self upvote. In this case, you become independent sometimes when it comes to gaining upvotes because your upvote will have greater impact on your posts and other people's posts depending on your value of SP.

Thirdly, you start gaining recognition on Steemit such that you may decide to be a witness if you have people who will vote for you. In this case, you will be able to confuse others by upvoting and support them which may make them vote for you as witness.

Fourthly, someone once told me you will be rewarded separately for your huge SP but I am not really sure about this. There are some people who are automatically rewarded with some specific amount of steem due to their high SP because they are really contributing to the platform by investing such amount. I don't really know much regarding the reward criteria.

Lastly, you can appear on the trending page with your huge SP. Your huge SP will enable gain more followers because everyone wants to be known by a whale just for them to gain your support. This will make people make long and numerous comments with upvotes and this gets you to the trending page which adds more to your payout.
