A lot of posts have been written on how to convert Steem dollars to cash. However, all are very longwinded... I feel the posters feel that if they write a long post, it will get more likes (for effort) and hence the incentive for verbosity. I, on the other hand, prefer simplicity...

So, here are the steps:

1. Sign up for Poloniex exchange

2. Go to Deposits and Withdrawals, find the STEEM currency line and click deposit

3. Copy the cryptocurrency address that shows up and come to Steemit

4. Use the Transfer function on the Steem Dollar page to transfer to the address you just copied! Now you have your steem at Poloniex.

5. Convert the Steem to Bitcoin in an instant on the Poloniex exchange (under the Exchange tab). Now you have Bitcoin, which is as good as cash!

6. Two fast ways to cash in: a) go to coinbase.com and get an account. They are just like paypal, so super easy and familiar. You can send the BTC from Poloniex to Coinbase and they will convert to USD fast. b) Go to bitstamp and sign up -- a bit more complicated to get verified, but easy enough. And finally, you can give credentials to Poloniex as well so they can send you cash.
