It's hard to pick a 'celebrity of my lifetime' as part of a younger generation that is so infatuated and overwhelmed with celebrity. The biggest celebrity in terms of art and music would probably be Kanye - people love him, sometimes I can't tell if it's because he is a great artist or just an absurd, egotistical character. Or Zuckerberg, everyone knows Zuckerberg.
Very observant point @k0wsk1, this has really become a celebrity driven culture, at least here in the United States for sure. Remembering the absolute hysteria (barely-being so young at the time) of people at his concerts, in public, I think his fame reached or even eclipsed levels of royals, national leaders, or dare I say even people like Elvis Presley, generations before. I agree, since the culture is so infatuated with celebrity, there is a new one seemingly every minute. Thanks for participating, very good insight!
