RE: Steemit took down @thedarkoverlord

in #steemit5 years ago (edited)

Steemit front end was created and ran by steemit Inc, they can take what action they like and they will reap the consequences.

Why should they risk years of litigation for someone who is basically acting like a digital blackmailer. If their content is so great, do a Snowden and share it.

Luckily, there are many other front ends available. So it's no real news at all.

Please stop the fud. They were not removed from the blockchain.

Where did I write that they are removed from the blockchain?

If you don't like it, present us with a better option. Otherwise you're wasting everyone's time.

Steemit Inc hold millions in funds that can be used to develop the blockchain.

You want the community to cut them loose and turn to who? You?

It's easy to pull things down, much harder to build something

You didn't answer my question? Isn't that waste of time?

You didn't need to write anywhere that they were removed from the blockchain for him to VALIDLY point out that they aren't removed from the blockchain, you only needed to post a diagram of blocks in a blockchain for anyone to have a valid reason to point out that they weren't removed from the blockchain.

Totally agree. See my comment below.

They risk years of litigation anyway if they don't curb accounts like DSJ. Why go after 1 and not the other? Too many accounts are not who or what they say they are and it's getting a little thick here.

Have a good one @kabir88!

I am no fan of steemit Inc, but when you operate a business that has a legal presence in the real world, legal considerations do matter.

I don't know the reasons for the inconsistency. It will just be another one of these mysteries I guess.
