Welcome everyone..You may be wondering about all these. Let me just clear some things..This is actually a series of sessions where I'll be discussing about the basic fundamentals as well as some crucial elements of Steemit.

But to do that we've got to start from the very beginning. The first few including this one may not be appropriate for everyone, as this is just the introduction and some info for new members..Though I'll encourage you to read this session if you like.. So, in today's segment we're gonna run you through the outlook of Steemit, just to shed some light to the absolute newcomers..& even if you're quite experienced, I'd still suggest you to stick with these series as I'll be exploring further subtle matters that might go a long to meet your needs...:)

About Steemit:

Steemit is actually a social platform powered by the Steem blockchain & Steem crypto currency, where users are rewarded for their contributions to the community with digital tokens named Steem.

It is a place where your voice truly matters. But one thing you need to know is that don't ever expect to get piles of cash in your hand as soon as you sign up..I'd be really thankful if you create eligible contents & thus help grow the Steemit community. Username & Passwords :

Once your account gets verified, you'll be given a password.. And as you already know, it's definitely not short..To hell with others, you yourself won't be able to remember it😊🙄..So be sure to to save your username & password somewhere off of your digital devices..

Home Menu

In the Home page you'll see posts sorted into different categories such as Trending, New, Hot & vice versa...

Trending:

Here you'll find recent posts with vast of upvotes and recognition..

New:

The newest posts by the community members can be found here....

Hot:

Posts which are popular at the moment is sorted here...

Promoted:

Posts that are elevated in other words promoted with Steem dollars to get further attention are found here..

Tags:

In the left side of the page, you'll see categories like life, entertainment, art, music etc. These are actually different groups with which posts are tagged...Basically one can add upto 5 tags regarding the topic of their posts...

Search:

In the upper right, you'll see the search option with which you can find your desired content..

Composing post:

Beside the search option, you'll see the 'write post' option where you can compose your posts...( will talk about writing posts in further sessions)

Alongside with the search option you'll also see the avatar icon of your account which'll lead you to your account page...& against it is the settings...

Feed:

If you have already followed someone then there recent posts will pop up here....

Blog:

The posts & resteems (basically reposts) made by you will be shown here..

Comments & Replies:

In the Comment section you'll see the comments & replies made by you in other members posts & in the Replies, you'll see the comments & replies made by others in your posts and comments....

Wallet:

In your wallet, you can check your balance, make transfers, exchange & see the transfers and transaction''s history...

[FYI: Steem is just the liquid form of Steem Power. It can be powered up into Steem Power, exchanged into Steem dollars through the market..And Steem power or SP is actually a measurement of your influence, meaning the more SP you hold the more value your posts & comments will have...& less SP will mean the other way...also you can transfer your Steem and SBD to others accounts...You can attain these by posting or commenting..in small words, by leaving a good contribution]

Settings:

In here, you can update your profile as well as cover photos, write your bio, share your location.

(point to be noted: The current optimal size for cover image for most devices is 2048 x 512)

Below this section, you'll see an option regarding 'nsfw' content which refers to 'Not safe for work' contents. You can change is it as you like, but for now I'll suggest you to keep it in 'Always warn'. There's also some payment related settings which I'll talk about in further segments..

In the upper part of the page, you'll see a link to the lists of people who follow you & also of people who you follow. The cover & profile images of your ID will also appear here.

Note :

Though it does's cost you any money to post, comment or reply....But it sure does cost you some voting power & resource credits about which I'll give a vivid description in the upcoming posts...So for now, just use your comments & votes wisely...
