Rocky Mountain Steem Update & Roadmap
As many of you have noticed, @rockymtnsteem has been resteeming all posts relevant to, or posted by, people in the Rocky Mountain Area.
What is the Rocky Mountain Area? We decided it’s everything along the mountain range which stretches from the western point of Salt Lake City Utah to it's eastern termination in Colorado. If you are somewhere in this mountain range, you should consider making it out to a future Steemit Meetup. This is what initially gave our community the synergy it needed to grow. And do we have synergy now. Over the past couple days, we have witnessed tons of new connections made, via the implementation of @rockymtnsteem ! This is fantastic, seeing people stumble across neighbors they didn’t know they had. Rocky Mountain Steem will continue to resteem all Posts made by members of the Rocky Mountain community.
How do I join the RMS community? & What could I do to help?
To join our community, you have to live in the Rocky Mountain Area, and contact us. That’s it. Contact this account or any other RMS member and they will help you join the Steemit Chat and also the Discord Server, which is where most of our communications take place.
Once you’ve joined, you will be a part of one of the coolest groups of people on the Steem Blockchain 💯⛓👥 Congrats! This account will then start following you and resteeming all your posts.
Hold Up... All My Posts?
Yes, we will resteem all your posts if they are under 7 days old. Since you are posting them, we are assuming you want maximum visibility. If you want us to refrain from resteeming your posts, or only want certain ones Resteemed, it’s up to you to let us know. You can do this by replying to one of our posts or messaging on one of the services provided.
Okay we’ve been seeing the resteems, but what about RMS upvotes?
When we first made @rockymtnsteem we had it go and upvote every available post from the members in the Discord Chat. That quickly drained the voting power which has now recharged nicely, so we will continue to Upvote posts from those in the RMS community, especially those who are new and have a small following and small Steem power.
Roadmap
-By mid-November, we want to start doing at least weekly or bi-weekly meetups.
-By January 2018, we want to get the @rockymtnsteem communal account to reach 10,000 Steem Power, by a combination of powering up all Posts, receiving delegations, and also renting SP via MinnowBooster. The account was started off with a 750SP rental for 4 weeks, paid for by @amvanaken . The higher we get the Steem Power for this account, the more it can help each community member grow on Steemit, but also the more bona-fide our community will appear to the global audience that exists on Steemit. If you want to delegate to this account or donate crypto to help us power up, just comment on one of our posts or send a message in the memo if you make a transfer.
-Very soon, we want to have all of you in our Steem Voter, meaning, no matter what, @rockymtnsteem has your back, giving upvotes for every single RMS community member post. Once we reach 1000SP, Steem Voter will allow 50 accounts to be voted for which is plenty.
-Also very soon, we think it would be a cool idea to start offering Rocky Mountain Steem merchandise, payable in crypto like BTC & SBD. T shirts, Beanies, etc are what we have in mind and we need one of the talented artists in the group to make us an official logo! 😜
-In 2018, we are speculating on whether Colorado would be a good place for a SteemFest-like event. We have gotten really good at hosting meet ups and this Saturday will be our largest meetup yet! We don’t exactly know how many people will be showing up yet, but it’s seeming like at least twice the number of people as the usual crowd. We know that it might sound a bit crazy claiming the next location for a SteemFest, but once you visit Colorado, you’ll see why we’re really feeling the vibes here. We think that it’s only right to start having SteemFest be more global and less European. With that being said, it only makes sense to have one outside of Europe, and Colorado is about as good as it gets outside Europe 😂😏 Let us know what you think about this, because we are extremely Bullish here in the Colorado/RM area, and it’s really crazy watching this become a hub of Steemit activity!
Tell us your thoughts, concerns & questions. The Rocky Mountain Steemit community is already very strong, but it will take all of our individual voices to make it perfect.
@amvanaken many thanks for helping bring something to life I had proposed and dreamt about almost a year ago. Thanks for moving this forward while life outside Steemit is requiring almost all of my time.
I love this initiative. Seeing wonderful sites of USA especially the rocky mountains makes me happy. It is like, I want to paint all of these wonderful sceneries!

I will try sending you a concept. Yay! Yes yes! A painting/ sketch contest about the Rocky Mountains would be great. A lot of artists here would basically love that. I would love to join too!
