Welcome fellow steemians.

This is YOUR chance to sound off, complain, have a voice and try to make a difference.
I am going to try my best to remain totally neutral even in any reply I make to your comments. This is all about you not me!.

I am going to award spot prizes of steem to the best comments, with the best comment after 7 days receiving 5 steem or maybe more. I may buy later today 400 or 500 steem to make this more fun and reward more people, depends on my mood later today.

All that is required here is participation, a resteem would be nice also to get more people involved, though not compulsory. If you do not have vote power you need not vote just to comment as with any of my posts.

I want to hear your thoughts with regards to steemit inc, ned and his band of not so merry men, the state of steemit.com & not steem or the blockchain as they are separate entities as we know.

You may feel free to say anything you like in the comments, good or bad. I have though worked all my life pre retirement - in the solutions industry, so any comments with regards to what is wrong on here, and how to put it right, are far more likely to get a reward from me with regards to free steem, than just a flat out slagging off of ned, his hair, hf20 etc etc.

Please also take time to pop back and check the comments, and engage with each other, the top person to engage with others will also receive a free steem full stop.

After the payout I will do a recap post of the most popular categories or problems with potential solutions as stated by you my fellow steemians.

If you have a minus rep and comment, I will try to make your comment visible with a 100% upvote and encourage others to do the same, we should all have an equal voice in this debate, regardless of opinion, free speech and all that jazz.

I will be paying out spot prizes every day, and the winner will be announced in the summary post, with their comment and solution. When I pay a spot payment I will add a comment to say so.

The image is from pixabay, and I have nothing left to say, so I hand over the blog to you, and eagerly await your comments. @shepz1 wishes each and everyone of you a perfectly pleasant day ahead. Shine on you crazy diamonds.

I'm not going to complain about steem inc for the most part. We all know at this stage their inability to deliver on promises or deadlines. Since they communicate about as often as a new series of rick and morty gets released its pointless to try and figure out what they are at.

They are not our problem. They are one cog in the machine and one we should be moving past. Let them move storage to rocksDb. Good. If they can release SMT'S even better. But we need to be moving past them as a controlling entity. There are two other SMT like products being developed right now by other people. Steemmonsters is building a whole side community. @timcliff organised a bounty and got 4 great multi-sig walk throughs built in days.....

Don't complain. Take action. Let steem inc do whatever they are at but we need to do for ourselves. They don't own the blockchain, we all do.

Superb comment, hoping others engage with you here.

best comparison heared for a long time :D

we agree on very important points. :)

We really need a new series. Also some communication would be nice too but I know where my priorities lie.

They don't own the blockchain, we all do.

... and I believe that was always the idea. Have we fallen into the age old trap of complaining to the ones we think are in charge to do something about it?

Posted using Partiko Android

I think so. You see so many people complaining about Steem inc even though they don't run any of this. They are just a private company who work on development. It will take a while as this whole concept is still fairly new and there can be a general lack of direction from a lot of people but we have seen what can be accomplished when a few people take an idea and go with it. we just need to see it more often.

We all own a stake in this so it benefits us all to improve it and increase the value of the blockchain and complaining isn't going to get us there. Solving problems will. What is the greatest issue facing the chain right now and then how do we fix it. Do this and repeat, hat is how you achieve success.

By my understanding no graphics is stored on the blockchain, only text. If STINC were to take their servers down tomorrow then it would be bye bye to all uploaded images.

We should definitely move away from dependence on STINC. The rocksDB HF should make this more possible, yet it will likely be STINC which brings us that release. The venom towards STINC is something that is hard for me to understand.

From what I've read you're right on this but since all of my images are uploaded to the blockchain anyway it doesn't worry me. I have them all backed up. I don't really get the hate either. They are not a good company but in essence they are trying to improve what we have here so we should be working with them not pulling them down.

I think a lot of it stems from the lack of communication from the group. If they actually interacted with the people here they could find so much talent and drive from the community that it would be a lot easier to implement any changes or infrastructure that they were trying to do. They have plenty people here who would be willing to help and work for free if we knew what was going on or what needed to be done. But they maintain radio silence while failing to deliver on their promises. That is where the frustration stems from.

You can see from the past few months that people are trying to organise and move away from steem inc which is great to see. The community is starting to get things done and if we keep going like this we will have a much stronger chain in the future. I only wish steem inc could see this and work with us as we would all benefit from a joint effort to improve the blockchain.

1 steem spot prize awarded/sent.

Thanks for that. Wasnt expecting it but I always love more steem.

Most welcome.

I see Steemit Inc. as the first company of many on the steem blockchain and ecosystem.
There are already more than just Steemit Inc. For example BuildTeam.

Decentralisation is key for me. In every aspect. Not only servers.
So we need a mean as community to also develop on the steem blockchain. Only one entity (steemit inc) developing on the steem blockchain is still pretty centralized.

In future we also get means to change and build important things. There are SMT + Token alternatives out there, which are coded by the community.
For example "no name yet" by @shredz7 and "vaporchain" @fulltimegeek , just to name 2 alternatives.

I'm pretty happy with the community engagement in this bear market. People are posting, curating and commenting. Talking about the future of steem and the past.
Problems and possible solutions.
But we need more central places where we can meet and structure our ideas/ contributions. - To really make the proof-of-brain work.
This is pretty interesting: https://steem.nolt.io/
but it's also the only thing I found where people show their ideas and not many know of it.

The whole cencorship thing with darkoverlord and media fake news.. just again proves me how good working and concepted this blockchain is.
The accounts and posts may be deleted and banned on some frontends (also Steemit.com by Steemit Inc) but are still on the steem blockchain and can interact with it.
There is no real cencorship (everyone who wants, can see it) but Steemit Inc and other companies can still follow the law. ;)

I think in steem is a big potential, we are already one of the only kind.
Now we only need to focus our energies. And especially use them in a positive way instead of a negative like FUD..^^

Greets from germany

That is a superb comment, I hope people engage you with their thoughts as I remain neutral until after the 7 days are up. :-)

Yea! I hope so, too!
Only in this way I can see which points people don't understand and I have to explain further. :) I hope I quickly covered my most important points... maybe I'll have to add or change something later :)

I also hope there is someone who can give me some new good input! :)
greets

Looking forward to seeing what transpires here. :-)

And we also need to figure out a solution about Steemit Inc.'s enormous stake.
The best would be if they peacefully lock most of the stake in some sort of contract.
Or some contract which makes them sell the steem to sbd over time, and then to fiat to pay server costs..
In this way they would also reduce debt and stabilize sbd. :)

If Steemit Inc doesn't want to cooperate there would still be the way to fork as community..

The accounts and posts may be deleted ....

It may well be a language issue, as you went on to explain the accounts are available on other Condenser Nodes, however to those not familiar with blockchain technology may think the blockchain has been altered by STINC and account(s) deleted.

This can lead to the spread of FUD in my opinion.

I totally agree and that's also why Im trying to counteract.
Here I didnt write precisely enough because I tried to cover several points..^^
I also wrote this in a comment:

Only in this way I can see which points people don't understand and I have to explain further. :)

Sure if most people weren't in fear of being retaliated against for doing such. That DO thing did seem warranted in my opinion but situations like that should be the only type outside of abuse that flags are used to take away people's rewards. If you don't like something comment to that effect and don't upvote the post. Flagging is so abused people will flag the post, flag the comments, flag people who comment on a flagged post, run over to the person's blog site and then proceed to flag everything done still pending rewards that was/is totally unrelated to what they got upset about...this type of flagging abuse needs to stop.

No.
Flagging is also an important tool to decrease an unjustified big Payout.
Just in this way way Plankton get a bit of the Reward Pool.
Without flagging there would only be self voting by whales and as Plankton / minnow it would be thousand times harder..

Folks need to understand that flagging is an important tool.
Of course of youre just here for the money I can understand your fear of Flags.

Im not here for money. I dont care.
But I still know how important flags are.

There are also plans to increase flagging Power for everyone.

Posted using Partiko Android

Flagging for unjustified payouts would be in the abuse of the platform status. They can go ahead and increase everyone's flagging power and it will be the last thing they will need to do just before turning the lights out for good. If you disagree with a article someone post then don't up vote it, simple as that. If you don't agree with a comment don't upvote it, if it's a abusive comment flag it but don't go running over to the persons blog site and revenge flag everything in sight...they will never get it that it's the number one thing holding this platform down.

I never revenge flagged anyone..
Such things do greedy whales.
And that's exactly why you need flagging Power and flag Trails.
To decentralized control this place.

Posted using Partiko Android

I see that as more of a mess, you do realize that most the power on here is held by a small group of a couple hundred...I'd wager to bet that small group can be broken down into being sock puppets of even a smaller groups among themselves, like say one person in that group is really like twenty five socks puppets in that group also.

Sorry boy.
I dont understand.

Posted using Partiko Android

I am a girl...or lady, lol.

It's pretty common knowledge on here that most large stake holders don't have all their eggs in one basket, they have multiple accounts. So as an example per se, take Ned, he may have his Ned account but he also may have multiple other accounts under different names. Accounts like those they can use to flag you multiple times making your flag useless. Stake gives you power to overcome a flag so their high stake multiple flags can make a flag with a trail following useless.
Maybe to understand this better take a look at the power it took to come together to stop Haejin. Haejin was an incredible power player with high stakes who abused the system, no one was capable of stopping him until other top power players combined to form a force capable of flagging his post until he adjusted his behavior. I am sure if you look for it you can find out how that played out somewhere here on the blockchain.

1 steem spot prize sent to you.

Hi shepz1. I don't like kicking someone when they are down as that comes across as unfair and just wrong.
The problem with the Steem blockchain is everyone relied on Steemit Inc to move it forward.Ned was allowed to become the 'leader' of this place and has proven he is out of his depth. Having a good idea and bringing it to completion are two different things. Many mistakes have been made and I blame the platform mainly for following someone who is clearly lacking skills.
The way to fix this is to have a core group of people who can step up and guide us in the right direction. We need developers and business minded people to put us back on course.

Maybe part of the problem is that people aren't used to decentralisation. It needs a group effort to move forward, from people who know what they're doing, however, people are so used to following a leader that no-one dares to step forward and voice their thoughts and knowledge. Instead they still expect to be told what to do. One person can't know everything, though.

Posted using Partiko Android

I agree, though must try to remain neutral, (for now.)

The way to fix this is to have a core group of people who can step up and guide us in the right direction.

Isn't that the top 20 witnesses? Vote accordingly.

Personally I disagree with you on this one. They may be good at some things ,but lacking in other areas. This is not the answer and needs to be thought through properly. We don't need more cock ups and need to get this right.

We need to vote for witness that understand the technology they steward. Tim Cliff is one that comes to mind, although there are some others.

Once we know that all 20 are competent enough to guide this technology then anyone else can contribute either individually or in teams as it is an open source project.

I agree with that, but we also need business and marketing expertise thrown into this mix. Development will drive this platform forward and other skills are needed to complete the package.

core group of people who can step up and guide us in the right direction

I hope in a decentralised community the direction might be condensed from the community. These directions can then be 'made real' by different core groups, which will vary from task to task.

The way things were pushed here made many of us think stinc was the ones in charge so to speak. And many people are just now waking up to the fact that stinc is not steem and we can make our own way forward.

Posted using Partiko Android

Big thumbs up to that. :-)

.... many people are just now waking up to the fact ...

Better late than never. My light finally came on last year.

Thanks to @perceptualflaws for resteeming this as I would have missed it!

I see steemit as a version 1.0 interface to the blockchain which was thrown together to build a community. I can see how many people who adopted earlier than I did, and depend upon steem and steemit for a little income are concerned.

Since then, we have seen the dawn of too many other steem applications to count (including @partiko which I am leveraging to communicate right now!) This gives us options and alternatives to steemit going forward.

The state of crypto is in depressed mode waiting on a recovery which might be very slow and a long time coming. When you find your team (developers AND communicators) with this money and it drops so hugely in less than a year, there are going to be rippling effects. Steemit is no different and it is all too easy to point fingers at them for our woes. They have closed off sections of the ship and are running on reserve power to weather the storm and be there for the next wave and nice weather.

The solution, in my mind (coming from another solution provider by trade,) is to take the pressure off ourselves to get rich quick, stop expecting people most of us will ever meet (@ned etc,) and enjoy interacting with each other while exploring the many decentralized apps on this awesome blockchain. Take this time to increase your stake if you are a believer in the mid to long term and the prices are so steeply discounted. Power down completely and invest elsewhere if you are not in the former camp.

Now is the time for research and engagement and relationship building and empire foundation laying. My personal outlook is to be thankful for the bear market as it has afforded me the time to really get my feet set before taking off without me. One thing for sure, I am making the most out of the time to study all the communities and technology developments.

There is a huge opportunity for me to build wealth for my family and I am determined to be ready, knowledgeable, and experienced so that I can see the opportunities that may not even be a reality yet.

My solution is to steem on and build a relationship with others who will be steering this ship as the next wave of leaders.

Brought to you by @tts. If you find it useful please consider upvoting this reply.

Ha ha, you know I have something to say, ..ok, more than a little something about this platform that could be described as a dystopian dictatorship depending on your experiences here, but no time right now. I'll come back later and promise to not be as negative as this comment would suggest :)

I await your reply. Everyone welcome on my blogs as you know. :-)

Yep, I resteemd your post as I think it's real value could lie in a healthy exchange of view points. But hey, I gotta run. Cheers!

Laters my friend, have a top day.

Thank you! Same to you!
Resteem didn't take on the first try; problem corrected. Gotta run again.

It's nice to give the kids a place to vent. 😎

:-) Aint it just my friend.

A good idea for a post ....!

Then thinking cap on and mega comment required. :-)

My new story that I'm writing is taking my focus at the moment...(part 1 posted today..).

How bizarre, though, that my fictional story correlates so closely to your post....

We are all aligned. :-)

nice blog take care
