Save our Steemit! Copy and pasters, whaters, whales and bots

Im worried about steemit. So many people copy and pasting content word for word or just a video from youtube and other sources getting upvotes for other peoples content and bullshit posts. Some dont even read the post and respond with utter trash of a comment. I have been guilty of this trying everything to get upvotes but this is not the way of steemit....is it ?
Bill has investment who spent 3hrs trying his hardest to make an appealing post but getting $0.10.
Ted spends 1min copying a youtube video link of another user jazzing up the wording and bam! Fuckloads of bots and useless comments.
Bill sees Teds post and is discouraged to work on another post because he feels he cant get anywhere.
Its the copy and paste word for word bullshit chaff content backed by bots and groups of people who suck each others dick for upvotes which is getting dumped into steemit.
Think about your post before you hit Submit Story Is it from your own head? Did you reword another site? ask questions. Make an effort. Read your shit and Try Harder!

I started flagging people who simply copy/paste without attributing a source and/or not writing their own opinion on what they copy/pasted.
But unfortunatelly, you can't touch the whales. A whale has so much power, that he/she can make you disappear from steemit in a couple of days. That is a problem that I don't know if we can resolve...
There are some good bots out there which check your posts. Like @cheetah which are helping police the community.
Is there an agreed way to use someone elses content here on steemit?
I hope we can educate and build a better community and not a whale control bot club
Agreed - thanks for insights...
@cheetah is doing its job, but we should also contribute and help make this community better. Yes I too get discouraged by seeing a lot of copy and pasted content getting so many upvotes, but I am determined that someday people will change and upvote the original content and not the copy-pasted one.

If only Steemit was like Reddit were on some posts you can link to the original article directly and talk about it. On Steemit it seems to be rehashed information or straight copy and paste for crypto.

I am rather new here, what you right makes total sense.
Sadly, we not only live in a cut/paste world but we also have a sector of society with no attention span. They can only look at something for a few seconds before needing to move on. Reading a sensible, well thought out writing is missed upon many.

Thanks. Yeap and if ive opened the door to make someone think about their next post then I was successful. I really like steem but I feel it could be slipping to a strange place.
