RE: The Bot, the Charming Python and the Nasty Nuclear Engineer

in #steemit6 years ago

I just read this two year old article and I must say it still has relevance today, as people with large steem power sometimes threaten new users with retribution for new user mistakes which the older more powerful steemers see as abuse. I recently enjoyed the pictures and markdown stlye of such a individual and asked him to look at my post pictures and give me suggestions. He responded by threatening to flag my post as abuse and report me to steem cleaners as a spammer. This response stunned me beyond belief. I am new. I admired this person's post for it's creativity and stlye and I hoped to learn from him, but instead of mentoring this person tried to crush me with a rock. I apologized to this person and made a mental note to be careful who I ask for help in the future. As you can imagine a new user doesn't want to start off by being flagged as a spammer for reaching out for help. I certainly don't want a robotic bot unleashed on me. I will vote for you for witness as a result of this post and your efforts to make Steemit a friendlier place for newbies and I will try to find more understanding mentors in this space.
Thank you
