Lets Do This to Support STEEM Everywhere

in #steemit6 years ago

Please join us to get STEEM & SBD on as many exchanges as possible.

The number of exchanges that STEEM and SBD are available on are severely deficient. This is hindering Steemit community and forcing the price of STEEM to remain low. I evaluated the price of STEEM at $109 because a majority of the currency is locked up in Steem Power. When comparing the liquid currency and price to other currencies in the top 50, Steem should have a market price of over $100. Why is STEEM so low? It is just not made readily available because it is on very few major exchanges. Help me change that!

Below is a list of exchanges that are making other top 50 coins valuable. STEEM and SBD need to be on as many of these exchanges as possible. If anyone has any connections to these exchanges, please do what you can to get STEEM and SBD listed.

There is more that can be done. We can do much better than that if STEEM and SBD were made available everywhere.

Did you happen to notice that the price of STEEM went up when it is listed on Huobi Exchange?

The number of exchanges that STEEM and SBD are available on are severely deficient. This is hindering Steemit community and forcing the price of STEEM to remain low. I evaluated the price of STEEM at $109 because a majority of the currency is locked up in Steem Power. When comparing the liquid currency and price to other currencies in the top 50, Steem should have a market price of over $100. Why is STEEM so low? It is just not made readily available because it is on very few major exchanges. Help me change that!

Lets put the lack of exchanges concept in perspective. Perhaps you want to buy a new car. You have plenty of Ford, Chevrolet, Toyota, Dodge, Mazda, Volkswagen, Subaru, and Honda dealerships where you live. They speak the same language that you use. However in order to buy a Hyundai, you have to go to another country to buy it and they don't speak your language. There is a high probability that you would not buy a Hyundai.

This is the dilemma with STEEM and SBD. As a currency, if it is not made available everywhere, then people would likely use something else. In comparison to other currencies ranked in the top 50, STEEM and SBD are severely lacking access. When people don't buy it or use it, the currency has little value and thus the price will remain low.

Other currencies have dedicated teams aggressively convincing exchanges to list their coin. STEEM seems to leave that task up to US.

Here is how you can make a difference for Steemit future.

I now have three forms to fill out and one contest.

#1

We need to let Poloniex know that there are many people that want STEEM and SBD wallets fixed on their exchange.
Here is a link to the Poloniex example. It explains (with pictures) how I filled out the form.

Follow this link to an article I wrote about listing STEEM and SBD on Cobinhood. It explains (with pictures) how I filled out the form.

Here is a new way to write a story and sneak in a mention for Binance to list SBD. If your story wins the top 50, then you can get some prizes. (There is only a few days left on this one!)

This is by far the easiest step:

Convince a Witness to get STEEM or SBD listed on a major exchange. Just promise to use your witness vote for the witness that gets the job done. Combine your vote with others and we can influence a witness to make it happen. Your witness votes do not take away from your voting power or earnings and is simple to do. You have 30 of these votes and they don't get used up. If you decide to change your mind you can unvote a witness or switch the vote to another witness.
Just leave a comment here to promise to vote or go to this link and comment:
https://steemit.com/steemit/@socky/witnesses-take-note-we-have-157-674-254-vests-to-vote-on-a-witness

I hope you take part in this effort to make STEEM great. Please remember to Upvote, Resteem, and Follow. Thank you.

Good perserverance buddy. Have you been posting on reddit as well? I have been stalking some big name celebrity youtube stars and famous podcasters trying to get them over here, but nothing so far. Just gotta stick to it i guess

Hey that is great! Well sort of "stalking". Haha, I know what you meant. Keep up the effort. We will make this place way better. I haven't posted on reddit.

I think Steem will soon overpass other social networks. My experience so far in Steem is stellar. Decent content, knowledge and very friendly people (just like you are, @socky), so that I'm pretty confident we will shoot up shortly.

However, as a community-focused, we need to devote ourselves together with the growth of Steem. I have invited five new people to join Steem so far, and wish to see more in the future.

Regarding visibility, I believe that Steem will soon be recognized and listed on more exchanges!

That is remarkable. I know how difficult it is to get people to sign up. It is different here and not what people are custom to.

Great, you understand the importance of growth!
Growth of monthly active users will have the largest impact to value. Since STEEM/Steemit platform is very cheap to operate, price of STEEM will mirror value. It is not the number of accounts, but the number of active users, so it is important that the users continue to use Steemit.

My concern is access. I personally experienced this since I refuse to use Bittrex since they stole $1000 from me. Now that I don't use Bittrex, I have no good way to sell SBD. I could sell it on BlockTrades with a huge fee or I can sell it on the local market which has ridiculously low trading volumes and often not a good price because everyone is trying to do the same thing. I can't trade on UpBit because I can't read Korean. There really is no good option for me. I can now relate to other languages because I can now feel what it is like to be in their shoes. Since Bittrex is English only and UpBit is Korean only, your options are not good if you can't read English or Korean. If the currency is not usable for the majority of the world, then they aren't going to sign up for Steemit. This is severely limiting growth. Getting both STEEM and SBD on multilingual exchanges is key to real growth. Not the current few thousand new accounts per day. We need to be in the 10's of thousands per day of new accounts.

Thanks for doing your part to convince people to sign up. Every bit helps.

Hi, thanks for your input. I understand well your concern. Have you tried Poloniex? I'm not a big fan of Poloniex either, but since we use it primarily as an exchange, we can easily sell our SBD there and withdraw BTC with ease.

But the future, i'm in favor for Binance to support SBD.

Hey, I since I've got your attention, would you support using one of your witness votes to vote for a witness (IF) they accomplish the challenge of getting STEEM or SBD on a major exchange. You have so many witness votes left to use. It couldn't hurt.

Sure thing, let me know which witness you are talking about. I can upvote it :)

Thank you!

Both Ploniex and HitBTC trade STEEM and SBD. The problem is that they stopped using the main wallet that allows STEEM and SBD transactions in and out of the exchange. It has been this way for 5 months. You can buy all you want, but you can't get it off the exchange. Don't dare to send SBD or STEEM to the exchange because the currency will get stuck on the wallet that isn't being maintained.

Have you notice the massive price swings of SBD on HitBTC?

HitBTC is not really trading any SBD. It is all fake. Investors are winning and loosing big on it with real money, but the virtual supply of SBD on HitBTC is fake.

Her is why. HitBTC has abandoned the central STEEM/SBD wallet for 5 months (presumably forever). Within their exchange they have a virtual wallet system. Normally when you transfer STEEM or SBD in or out of the exchange, you would send it through a central wallet via a memo to keep track of who has what.

Since HitBTC has abandoned their STEEM/SBD wallet for so long, people who have transferred any STEEM/SBD into HitBTC have long since sold it for something else or just abandoned it.

You can go and look at the HitBTC STEEM/SBD wallet and you will find that nothing is happening to the balance.

So what are they trading?
Answer: It is fake money. Make believe. It is not real.
The only thing is real is investors are buying up this fake virtual money on HitBTC and trading it in high stakes gambling.

If HitBTC keeps up this system of fake currency trading on their exchange, people will eventually learn that HitBTC is not a real exchange and abandon it.

Poliniex is doing the same thing as HitBTC.
In summary, No-one can use Poloniex for STEEM or SBD.

Why would taking steem out of SP increase the price. Wouldn't this flood the market and push the price down?

Posted using Partiko Android

It is the other way around. When STEEM is converted to SP, the STEEM is locked into a contract for a period of time. It is a 13 week withdrawal period, but only when initiated. When STEEM is in SP, it is no longer liquid. Over the last few months, there has been more STEEM stored in SP than was created. The liquid supply is already small and is shrinking. This is one of the reasons that SBD is so important. When the supply of STEEM gets really low, then STEEM price would go really high and potentially volatile. SBD will be there as a stable currency.

STEEM could experience what is happening on HitBTC if the supply goes down extremely low. Right now the supply of SBD on HitBTC is stuck there. No SBD can go in or out. With low supply and high demand, then high stakes trading takes over and the price swings like crazy.

But not to worry, the supply of STEEM is not going to experience that for a long time.

https://steemit.com/philosophy/@metama/reprogramming-your-mind-day-13-i-have-a-dream

This is very true. steem at 109 bucks that would be crazy / so many people would sign up as well. As you have pointed out we need more fiat exchanges to trade steem

You can make a difference by convincing a witness to do something. I have challenged any witness to get STEEM or SBD on a major exchange to get our witness vote. There is a chance that one of the witnesses you are already voting for will accomplish the challenge. Would you like to participate an promise a witness vote to whoever can get the job done?
