RE: Scam Alert - Finding Scam Ads On Steemit

in #steemit5 years ago

I see posts about ads on steemit from time to time, but I have yet to experience them - I just use Brave browser. I don't get why they aren't selling advertising to steemians directly, though. They could keep 100% of the profit but instead are going with Google and only getting a small percentage. I know they made a quick decision when the funds were tight a few months ago, but people will surely pay steemit Inc to advertise on it directly. They could also put Google ads on the feed pages and ads from steemit users on post pages diversifying their potential income. Just a thought.

for most of us (plankton, shrimp, whatever...) steemit.com is worse than wordpress.com There's no revenue in it anymore, and the platform/clowd people always forget that content is more important than platform.
Also; bless them for spending so much time on realising that hard disk space is cheaper than RAM space (what do they call it? "META" !?) We had the internet figured out in the nineties, but nobody believes it because they don't know any history.

That was the initial idea when the community first started talking about ads on posts in 2016.
