Parents are role models for their children. They are responsible for setting their child on the right path. But what about basic money matters? Money-related education should be provided from the secondary school. Small, practical dosages should be given throughout school and college life.
- Making budgeting a family affair
The discipline of saving must be sowed in right from the beginning. Explain to them how to budget money and take their opinion into account. This will help them to get an idea to plan out their own budget in future and will enable to utilise their money in a judicious manner.
Early teachings will lead to better results. This is essential so that your child's future is not marred with any financial hassles
Yes parent should teach there children about financial matter but saving, taxes etc should be part of secondary level education itself. 80% of what we learn in schools will not be utilized in our life, why not remove some things and add this stuff to syllabus to educate the young.

Very important and something that school doesn’t teach our kids ... maybe the education system should rethink their curriculum guides

OP, you had a point, many years back i never saw the need for parents to educate their chilldren about finance generally no, not until i stumbled upon a piece tittled 'what rich dad teaches their children about money'. Its a wake call to everyone of us.
