Já faz 7 meses que eu trabalho 100%, com conceitos de blockchain e analisando projetos de criptomoedas.

Quase dois meses atras eu decidi abordar o projeto Steem principalmente, para divulgar os meus trabalhos e tudo estava indo bem mas, ai veio o HF20 que quase me fez abandanar essa maravilhosa plataforma.

For 7 months I have been working 100% with blockchain concepts and analyzing cryptocurrencies projects.

Almost two months ago I decided to approach the Steem project mainly, to publicize my work and everything was going well but, there came the HF20 that almost made me abandon this wonderful platform.

Sistema de Crédito de Recursos

Como eu ainda não tinha tido tempo para estudar e analisar o projeto Steem, nem me preocupei. Simplesmente, Pensei: "Que bom, a comunidade está ativa e trabalhando duramente para melhorar o projeto."

O principal impacto que eu "senti" como novato com o Steem Velocity Hardfork - Hardfork 20, foi a mudança na fórmula da largura de banda (bandwith), conhecida como Sistema de Crédito de Recursos, ou simplesmente RC.

Então, para superar a minha frustração naqueles intermináveis 5 dias necessários para a blockchain voltar 100% operacional, eu comecei a dedicar tempo para analisar e entender melhor como tudo funciona aqui.

Resource Credit System

Since I still had not had time to study and analyze the Steem project, I did not even bother. Quite simply, I thought, "That's good, the community is active and working hard to improve the project."

The main impact that I "felt" as a beginner with Steem Velocity Hardfork - Hardfork 20, was the change in the bandwidth formula, known as the Resource Credit System, or simply RC.

So to overcome my frustration in those endless 5 days required for the blockchain to come back 100% operational, I started to take the time to analyze and better understand how everything works here.

Antes de prosseguir, eu gostaria de esclarecer alguns conceitos básicos e vou tentar ser o menos técnico possível, para ajudar os não técnicos. Estes são alguns termos importantes para melhor entender a plataforma Steem e essa postagem:

Blockchain, é o registro descentralizado e o protocolo de consenso.
Steem, é o nome da plataforma blockchain.
Bandwith, é a largura da banda do usuário e o limite de dados que pode enviar e usar.
VESTS, é um símbolo subjacente do qual o STEEM é derivado e participa do Steem Power.
STEEM, é a moeda da blockchain, versão líquida do Steem Power.

A mudança na fórmula foi anunciada com o comunicado Blockchain Update 2: HF20 Progress & Bandwidth Changes, e se tornou cada vez mais importante à medida que se continuou a escalar a blockchain para mais e mais usuários, inclusive eu e você que acabou de chegar.

Before proceeding, I would like to clarify some basic concepts and I will try to be as less tecnichal as possible to help the non-technical ones. Here are some important terms to better understand the Steem platform and this post:

Blockchain, is the decentralized registry and consensus protocol.
Steem, is the name of the blockchain platform.
Bandwith, is the bandwidth of the user and the limit of data that can be sent and used.
VESTS, is an underlying symbol from which STEEM is derived and participates in Steem Power.
STEEM, is the currency of the blockchain, liquid version of Steem Power.

The change in the formula was announced with the release Blockchain Update 2: HF20 Progress & Bandwidth Changes, and became increasingly important as we continued to escalate the blockchain to more and more users, including me and you who just arrived.

O sistema de Bandwith foi completamente reescrito, com uma alocação de recursos de última geração, construído em torno da nova unidade (RC). O desenvolvimento também foi orientado nos seguintes objetivos:

Alocar com mais eficiência os recursos blockchain;
Medir com maior precisão o custo real da execução do blockchain;

The Bandwith system has been completely rewritten, with a state-of-the-art resource allocation built around the new unit (RC). Development was also guided by the following objectives:

Allocate blockchain resources more efficiently;
Measure more accurately the actual cost of blockchain execution;
Allow Steem developers to create more predictable user experiences.

The first objective was the most important with the introduction of the new RC system. The more "smart" the resources are allocated, the more user activity can be maintained. This is a critical component when allowing more users access. It was also critical that the system discourage excessive consumption of resources by users as well as spam.

Antes do RC o usuário ficava confuso com a opção puramente binária: ou adquiria mais SP ou não conseguiria transacionar no Steem. Os usuários finais não podiam, saber quanto de bandwith receberiam de sua compra de mais SP. A quantidade de bandwith muda constantemente, dependendo do nível de atividade da rede.

Para satisfazer o terceiro objetivo, era fundamental que o RC permitisse um modelo previsível, simples e eficaz para informar os usuários sobre o uso do RC, seus RC remanescentes, o custo de novas transações (medidas em RC) e opções de compra adicionais.

O novo sistema cria “conjuntos de orçamento de recursos” para cada tipo de recurso (uso de RAM, tempo de reindexação, etc.). Cada conjunto pode ser visto como o "estoque" do blockchain do recurso correspondente. Os CRs são a “moeda” que o blockchain usa para precificar os recursos desses estoques e o meio interno de troca desses recursos.

Before the RC the user would get confused with the purely binary option: either he would get more SP or he would not be able to trade on Steem. End users could not, how much bandwith they would receive from their purchase of more SP. The amount of bandwith changes constantly depending on the level of network activity.

To meet the third objective, it was critical that the RC allow a predictable, simple and effective model to inform users about the use of RC, their remaining RC, the cost of new transactions (RC measures), and additional purchase options .

The new system creates "resource budget sets" for each resource type (RAM usage, reindexing time, etc.). Each set can be seen as the "stock" of the corresponding feature blockchain. CRs are the "currency" that the blockchain uses to price the resources of these stocks and the internal means of exchanging those resources.

O básico da curadoria

Curadoria é simplesmente o ato de votar usando o botão upvote. Você não gasta os seus STEEM (dinheiro) para votar (curador) mas, pode até ganhar pela curadoria. Antes do HF19 o usuário podia lançar 40 votos à cada 24 horas, depois passou para 10 à cada 24 horas, e agora a quantidade de votos dependem dos seus RCs disponíveis.

Pelo que eu entendi até o momento, o sistema de cálculo das recompensas de curadoria para incentivar os leitores a buscar novos conteúdos e promovê-los com seus votos positivos não foi alterado. A divisão atual de recompensas é de 75% para os autores e 25% para os curadores.

As recompensas são mais altas para os primeiros votos, recompensando os leitores que reservam tempo para desenterrar novos conteúdos. No entanto, é melhor esperar pelo menos 30 minutos após o lançamento de um post. Isso visa evitar uma corrida imediata de votos para autores conhecidos. Uma proporção da recompensa é devolvida ao autor linearmente, de 100% imediatamente após publicar o post, até 50% depois de 15 minutos, chegando a 0% depois de 30 minutos.

The basics of curation

Curation is simply the act of voting using the upvote button. You do not spend your STEEM (money) to vote (curate) but you can even win to curate. Before HF19 the user could cast 40 votes every 24 hours, then passed them to 10 every 24 hours, and now the amount of votes depend on their available RCs.

From what I understand so far, the system of calculating curation rewards to encourage readers to seek new content and promote them with their positive votes has not changed. The current rewards division is 75% for the authors and 25% for the curators.

Rewards are higher for first votes, rewarding readers who take the time to dig up new content. However, it is best to wait at least 30 minutes after launching a post. This is to avoid an immediate rush of votes to known authors. A proportion of the reward is returned to the author linearly, 100% immediately after posting, up to 50% after 15 minutes, reaching 0% after 30 minutes.

Receiving upvotes not only increases the rewards but also increases the rank (the number next to the name) which shows how you were received by the general public and will increase the visibility of your posts.

No exemplo acima, um post que recebe um único valor de US$ 4,00 resulta em uma recompensa de US$ 3,00 para o autor e US$ 1,00 para os votos depois dos 30 minutos.

A maioria dos posts recebe alguns votos nos primeiros trinta minutos, muitas vezes dos curadores, mas também do próprio autor.

How the Curation Mechanism Rewards Early Upvoters

However, the order of positive votes is critical to determining the division of rewards of curation among the upvoters. The mechanism is designed to reward early curators who take time to discover new content.

Vests e Poder de Voto

Em termos simples, vests são usados para determinar a quantidade de influência que seus votos têm. Você ganha vests com base na quantidade de SP que tem em sua conta. Vests and Voting Power

In simple terms, vests are used to determine how much influence your votes have. You earn vests based on the amount of SP you have in your account. To increase the number of vests, convert SBD to STEEM and then Power Up to convert STEEM to Steem Power. These actions can be performed on your Wallet.

Vests are shares of the SP fund. If a user takes no action on the Steemit platform, their actions will remain static in quantity, as will the actions of a financial fund. In addition, such as shares of a financial fund, the underlying asset base may change with the accession of new investors, exit from other investors, but none of these moves changes the amount of shares you hold in that fund.

Voting Power determines how much influence your vote will have. The more influence your vote has, the more you will increase the value of the rewards you receive. Voting power is currently based on an exponential calculation.

Voting power is linked to the number of vests you have.
