The thing I hate and don't understand is that everyone's work becomes worthless after 7 days ..On youtube you get paid as long as it's up and adds are playing ... some long term residuals for your effort .... I feel this needs to be changed to make steem more appealing to the artists and creators .... For a musician or other artists it's not a very good platform for making much from the work done...

i just got here. Didn't join to make coin but yeah, the 7 day thing does seem a bit weird and unhelpful in terms of incentivising quality content creation.

Well enjoy and they are working on it they say ...

Understandable...but would these so called "unknown" musicians be making anything off youtube at all?
Dont you have to have like 1000's of subs, hundreds of videos and be around for a long time to even make some money from youtube?
Asking as im not sure...

yup you do but as long as its up you will make a bit and if one goes viral a year from now woohoo ..but here you will get nothing ... just thought there should be some perks ..say you get 1000 views or thumbs down the road you should get a little something for the work ... even if its just a little per thousand thumbs

This has to do with the resources it would take to keep all of the posts open all of the time.

I agree it is an issue, but the good news is that I have heard several people talk about plans to resolve this issue using SMTs, in the future.

cool ... thanks for letting me know ..glad to hear ... not sure what SMTs is but am looking it up lol
And I see your point on the resources needed to do something like that .. it would be huge ....
