Yesterday Thirsty Records announced their official Steemit account. Here we are to announce how this works.

Thirsty Records three main roles on Steemit

1. Follow Musicians

2. Promote Musicians
3. Reward Musicians

1. Following Musicians

We do this by following Musicians through their Steemit pages. Our news feed is then filled with original artists and their music.

Every time we spot an Artist who produces a new original song, of any form, we then follow them.

By following each new Musician here on Steemit we are able to create a news feed filled with original music.

Our moderators have a private channel that we use to discuss the musical content being posted. Every time a new song is posted we share it amongst ourselves and decide how much we collectively like it.

We are only looking for original music created and posted by the owner/s of a Steemit account.

2. Promoting Musicians

You can use the #thirsty tag on your posts, or the #thirsty-music-promotion channel on steemit.chat to promote your original works.

Each week @thirstyrecords will post our favourite song created in that week on Steemit.

We also wish to diversify between genres so that we can appeal to all types of music lovers. This means that we will be promoting different genres each week.

The more diverse Steemit’s Musician base becomes the more diverse Thirsty Records becomes.

3. Reward Musicians

Our most important part of this project is to benefit each Musician that uses Steemit.

As you already know, we plan to do this by curating and promoting Musicians.

1. Curating - We plan to build up enough vests in this account so that our curation rewards are worth the effort Musicians put into their work.

2. Promoting - We plan to reward one artist per week by posting their original song and then giving them the total SBD reward for that post; 100% of SBD rewarded from one post to one lucky Musician each week.

To further transparency…

We have decided that 75% of all Steem Based Dollars(SBD) rewarded on announcement posts such as this is to be allocated as Steem Power on the @thirstyrecords account. This will fast track our goal of obtaining a large number of vests to reward Musicians with.

We have also decided that 15% of SBD rewarded on announcement posts is to be allocated to the moderators who are working hard to make this happen.

The remaining 10% of SBD rewarded on announcement posts is to be allocated toward other incentives, such as recording opportunities, music competitions and other paid for services in the future. This way we can diversify Thirsty Records further as it grows.

We hope that Musicians and Listeners see this incentive and take a moment to follow @thirstyrecords.

Every time a Listener follows Thirsty Records the musical fan base of Steemit grows and Musicians are further rewarded.

We encourage Musicians to take advantage of this incentive as we have provided no reasons not too.

We encourage Listeners to show their support by up-voting the content that Thirsty Records promotes.

We do not expect anything from the people of Steemit.

We believe that every music enthusiast here on Steemit will benefit from this platform.


Thirsty Records holds no contracts for Musicians and is a free-market Record Label based on the Blockchain; the first of its kind. We do not expect anything from Steemit, Musicians on Steemit, or the Listeners that use this service.
