Steemit Community Catalyst “Roadmap” (#nobidbot, #steemitzombies, Deadpost Initiative)

in #steemit6 years ago (edited)

Steemit Community Catalyst is a project that aims to bring people like minded people together and pool resources in order to grow together, build initiatives that solve problems on and off steemit, highlight quality content and community initiatives, and help create a better distribution of wealth on the platform (more dolphins!). We try to build consensus through the chat room and act according to the will of the collective community. Not everyone will agree on everything, but we want the decision making process to be open to anyone who is capable of getting along with others and forming bonds within the community.

We hope to help new and old users find ways to contribute to the platform and help them grow as they help others. We hope that everyone can find something that they are passionate about here. We want to build more trust and understanding and give a platform to anyone who has great ideas but doesn’t have the SP to be heard, and allow them to form a team with a shared vision.

logo contest coming soon

Current projects include:

  • #nobidbot - a tag for finding and curating quality posts that do not make use of bidbot services.
  • #steemitzombies - a set of standards and tag to find and curate reposted material that was undervalued its first time around.
  • the Deadpost Initiative - a weekly contest that seeks to find readership and payout for undervalued posts that did poorly during their 7 week payout
The #nobidbot tag took off about two weeks ago with a few dolphins and evens top 20 witness using the tag. The speed at which it was moving prompted us to want to make the most of the momentum and start a curation group ASAP, but being as that the community itself is still forming, we are still starting to get to know each other, and I don’t intend to make this MY project but s group project where we share the responsibilities and power and the rewards, so it was decided that we would slow down a little bit and first formulate a clear vision first. We will not be moving lightnight speed with this but I think we can make steady progress and help a lot of people find a way to make a difference.

Catalyst “Roadmap”

Step 1 : Build an account, raise SP, raise awareness

Our main goals for this stage will be to open an account and collect 5000 SP delegation, raise awareness about the current projects, upvote undervalued posts by those who are using the tag, bringing together more like minded people and strengthening our consensus to build trust.

The account will be used to provide updates about our projects, resteem all project related posts, resteem some undervalued content in the #nobidbot and #steemitzombies tags and eventually start up acuration newsletter. The account will upvote undervalued now content within these two tags and posts by the most active contributors as payment for their work.

Step 2 : Curation Projects

At this stage we will set a goal of 10,000 to 20,000 and form a manual curation group/newsletter centered around the two tags. Much of the accounts upvotes will go towards this curation project. How to run these curation groups will be discussed once we reach our 5000 SP goal of step 1.

Step 3 : Adopt New Initiatives

Once a team of dedicated and trustworthy curators forms around these projects, they will be able to branch off and form their own account which will be run independently. They will “graduate” from the catalyst initiative. We will likely continue to support them with upvotes (and if we get big enough, delegation), but we will move our focus in the chat room to some new projects which any member of the community is free to propose and spearhead, and they will receive our full support so far as the community agrees that it is consistent with our values.

The idea is that eventually any small minnow can come to us with an idea for an initiative and we will be their training wheels to help them get it up and running with support from the larger steemit community. Please check out the tags and the Deadpost Initiative (links above) or...

Good compaign on awareness just keep it up

These are great projects. I wish some of my stuff got a bit more attention.
I hate that people are using bots to promote the worst stuff.

Welcome to use both tags...the #steemitzombies idea asks that it’s the first tag, and that your post is at least a month old, less than $15 payout, and that you leave a link and description of your original post in the new post, welcome to add info about the payout and comments you received.

#nobidbot simply requires that ypu don’t use a bidbot. The tags seem to draw at least 2+ extra readers sometimes a lot more.

Love to see how you are brimgimg this together. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

seeks to find readership and payout for undervalued posts that did poorly during their 7 week payout

Do you mean 7 day or is there something I'm missing?

Mission next week is to get into the zombie thing xxx hope to find the time!!!

he means 7 day payout :>)

7 days hahhaa Join us in the chats. Be awesome for chatting, community catalyst for steemit Initiative stuff

Nobidbot is doing great. I had a few posts do okay there and I plan to use it more often. That tag is going to take off.

I like the idea of a curation group too. It would certainly attract more people .

The only problem with curation is that the community is mostly strangers to each other, we are still trying to figure each other out and I’m too busy to Head it myself. Once we know each other a bit more and agree on things, it’ll start moving.

I see that. The only people I really know who posts there are you and diabolika. I have had a few pleasant exchanges with brightstar too but that is about it. I think I am about to start posting everything there though. Two posts ago I took a loss on the lucid dreaming post I wrote because I payed for some pretty worthless resteems lol. I think it is just a psychological thing that gave me pause on that. I am actually making more (kind of) but the payouts look much smaller.

OHHHH facepalm lol I used #nobidbot lol

oh wait... it seems there is both a nobidbot and a nobidbots lol

Double facepalm, you were right, I was wrong hahah. Autotype adds an s sometimes.

It looks like both are in use though if you click through #nobidbots

@whatamidoing You have received a random upvote from @transparencybot for not using bidbots on this post and using the #nobidbot tag!

Will be happy to see this succeed. Good luck.

Using the #nobidbot tag.

Just reminded me to also use the #steemitzombies tag.

Have a few early posts I think worth improving and reposting.
