Why use steemit without the intention of making money

Hi guys. So I get asked alot by friends and family when talking about this bountiful social platform why I use it if my main purpose isn't to make money?
There are so many, maaany reasons (shall we make a list?)

How awesome is it to be able to get so much original content?

When browsing through steemit, you find so many articles that don't exist anywhere else, steemit is a very open and big community, there are so many people here that work anonymously, that you find original, true to the bone, no filter information that when you search on the usual search engines for, you have to search for a pretty long time because the top posts in those are always themed by/in a more "socially approved" manner

How awesome is it that the normal people are making money for posting?

Using the bigger sites as a search method, means huge or semi huge companies are making money while (as I previously stated) better voiced information can be found right here, and bonus these normal people are making money for better advice, some of these people that actually need the money more than those corporate assholes that post only what the "world" wants them too.

How awesome is it that all this quality content is free 🆓!!!?

Again some of these users are using steemit as a big part of their income, so posting quality content is a big must, and we the community have access to all this for free. By searching, filtering, hash tags and a whole search engine created just for this platform. It is amazing. Everything is well put together and easy to use(even for dummies like me)

*These are just a few of the reasons, there are so so so many. This is why I recommend this amazing platform to everyone I meet. Not with the intent to make money out of it but because I find what I need here with all these perks given by this space, it is truly a wonderful idea they've put into work here and I am so grateful for it.*
