Meet me at SteemFest 2018 in Kraków

Sort:

I'm impressed that you are still able to do this @world-travel-pro, given the price of Steem for most of the year. Great job! 😁

Steem is just a small portion of my Income now, and I'm just saving almost all of it, hoping the price goes up. But I was smart enough to make hay while the sun was shinning and got a lot of my earnings out back in January, February, March, April. Enough for me to live on all year and part of next year too. With a 10 dollar SBD and 8 dollar steem, I knew it was too good to be true and wouldn't last forever. So I worked it and liquidated! I advised others to do the same.....and nobody listened to me! "It's going to go higher" they all said. I only wish I sold more!

Wow. Good investment decision there @world-travel-pro. I've been hoarding mine because I wanted the Steem Power but, to be honest, it's not got me very far.

It took me 8 months of pretty much full time slog to get to 1000 SP before the penny dropped that I wasn't going to be able to make an income by blogging.

The rest I've bought in dribs and drabs but I feel my Steemit days are coming to an end. Too much work for too little reward.

I'm making more on Steem Monsters (in theory) which is a huge surprise!

They just envy you 😉

I think some people (especially in Ukraine) are simply not able to get that it is really possible not to work but travel. It's not their fault, it is their reality to blame for it.

P. S. It sounds kind of dreamy:) "what do you do for living?" "eh... I travel" 😊

To be fair, for many people it is really impossible to not work, but only travel, especially if they come from countries like Ukraine, where the cost of living is low, which also reflects the numbers on their paychecks.

When you come from North America, or other countries, where the cost of living but also salaries are relatively high, you can travel almost anywhere and your money can stretch a long way if you are frugal (sometimes even if you're not), especially if you go to really "cheap" countries like in eastern Europe.

The opposite is also true. If your earn less than 500 euros per month, it is really hard to do much with that. I know that in current digital age, you can earn an income worldwide online, but that option is not available for everyone (either for logistical or legal reasons, or for lack of knowledge or language barrier).

Unfortunately, for some people it is impossible to travel even if they work.

I do agree with you.

The minimal pension in Ukraine is much less than 100 dollars :(

Couldn't agree more. Well stated. Regardless of where you are from it's going to take skill, business sense, and discipline to gain financial security to the point where you are wealthy in free time and have enough income to live on. Fortunately for me I've been able to figure things out, upon leaving the US at age 20 and starting my own business in South Korea while my friends were getting into debt at University. I've never graduated college and never had a boss since age 19, one of my keys to success and freedom. Thanks for your comment Miss Lady Bug, you really do know what you are talking about, being born in certain parts of the world will certainly be an advantage or disadvantage, but taking responsibility for one's self can beat all odds!

Have a great day! -Dan

Well Thank you. And where are you from? You look cute as a button. I'm recently single and still looking for that Miss Travel Pro! haha. But you're probably already taken aren't you.

☺️ You made me smile! Thank you :)

"Cute as a button", - I have never heard that before. It sounds so sweet!

Actually I am from Ukraine. Perhaps it is the reason why I'm following you:)

Miss Travel Pro... 🤔

Haha, I see. I guess it's something with me and Ukrainian Girls. I'm still enjoying my last week in your country. Odessa is certainly my favorite place to be. Where in Ukraine are you from?

Donetsk region, a small town named Artyomovsk (Bakhmut now)

Odessa is my favourite city too. It's really beautiful!

Are you obsessed with Ukrainian girls? 😜

Posted using Partiko Android

Donetsk! How about that. I've met people from that area. They all talk about what is going on there with Russia. Is that why you left?

Haha. No I'm not obsessed with Ukrainian girls. Maybe they are obsessed with me! haha. Just been here a while waiting for steemfest in Poland, and I've met a few nice girls but nobody I'm prepared to make a life with.

Part of why I'm really enjoying myself here is because I have two great Grandparents who were born in Odessa in the late 1800s. They immigrated to the United states as Children, they lived in New York City. I grew up in up-state New York, a suburb outside of the Capital city of Albany. It's strange, as I look like the people here, and often the locals come up to me and start talking in Russian, all I can say is I'm from New York and Speak English Sorry. They often smile and go on their way.

What are you doing in Thailand? How long will you be there for?

I will start with the last question. I'm doing nothing. Moreover, I've been doing nothing quite for a while. This is the reason I think too much😂
How long? I don't know. I don't have a plan. I wish I had:)

I did leave at that time but it was a coincidence. Although if the situation had been different, I wouldn't probably have left.

Such an interesting story of your family!

"... been here a while... but nobody I'm prepared to make a life with". Just curious, how long is a while? 😜 How many days do you need to understand this person is the one you are ready to make a life with? :)
