Microsoft spreadsheet was the next milestone after the limited use of ILOTUS 1-2-3.
Microsoft Excel was the one of first eloctronic spreadsheet to use a graphical intterface with pull down menus and a point and click capabilities using the mouse pointing devices . The microsoft Excel spreadsheet with a graphical interface was easier for most people to use the command line interface of PC-Dos spreadsheet products,Like Dos, VisiiCalc,Symphony etc.

The early version of microsoft Excel was launched to run in Ms Dos Version 3.0, but due to its graphical interface quality, could not function in microsoft Excel reamind the only windows spreadsheet package with its flags at the peak,and the electronic spreadsheet market leader since 1995 till date. It is for this reason that institutions and individuals had sort to use microsoft Excel as a case study of spreadsheet evaluation.
