It is all in the air

It never fails to amaze me when I look at the various "air plants" - just how they are able to grow and bloom without any help form mankind.
I have a couple of varieties in the garden and the one is just starting to come into flower - deep pink and magenta in colour.

Wouldn't it be amazing if we could be the same - imagine - everything we needed would come from the air around us and we would thrive!!
