Hi, and welcome to steemit, as you have said you know nothing about crypto or blockchains, I don't think that should matter too much, I've been here since January and I'm still learning a lot about this platform, knowing about blockchains isn't all too important.
Hopefully your marketing skills should help you on your journey immensely, because getting content seen and appreciated here can be difficult. Never give up though!
Once you are used to the community there are a bunch of really useful tools to use, but for the moment, stick with good old steemit.

There is indeed a lot to learn when it comes to crypto and blockchains and I guess it can be daunting for many when coming to Steemit purely for blogging. As you said, it isn't too important, but I guess there are many that want to have a good understanding before committing too much time to this platform. That could be something holding new people back.
