We learn more about Physics - Information and videos for little one

Before we start, we need to know what is Physics.  This is  part of Science that gives us information and scientists make discoveries on things like movement and gravity - we do not fall from earth due to gravity - the Earth pulls us toward it with a gravitational force.  It also look at things like electricity, light, sound and many more.

Lets have a look at some general facts concerning physics.

Not all planets have the same gravity.  That means you will not weigh the same on each planet, because the gravity is more or less than on Earth.  Mars do not have a lot of gravity, so you will weigh much less there than on earth.  There is  a difference between weight and mass.

There is a basic difference, because mass is the actual amount of material contained in a body and is measured in kg, gm, etc. Whereas weight is the force exerted by the gravity on that object mg. Note that mass is independent of everything but weight is different on the earth, moon, etc

An electric eel has actual electricity of about 500 volts with which in can sting its prey or a predator trying to attack it.

While we measure electricity in Volts or amperes, we will measure the energy in food with kilojoules or calories.

The light that comes from Earth, moves so fast that it takes only about 1.25 seconds to reach the moon.

Sound is caused by vibration and it moves at the speed of 1230 km per hour.

Water can move upwards in a narrow tube and this process is called capillary action.  This is seen in plants and you can do an experiment to prove that this is true.  Have a look at the video and read how to do the experiment here.

The lenses of a magnifying glass is convex and this make it possible to enlarge the object you look at.

Earth and 7 other planets revolves around the Sun and each planet has unique features.  Uranus for instance is the only planet that spins on its side like a barrel and Venus spins in the opposite direction than Earth.

You can learn more on the different planets here.

The Cheetah is the fastest animal on land and can reach a speed of 113km per hour.

A person who studies physics is called a physicist and a well known physicist that won a Nobel prize for Science was Albert Einstein.

The Nobel Prize is a set of annual international awards bestowed in several categories by Swedish and Norwegian institutions in recognition of academic, cultural, or scientific advances.
