What lovely tasty fruit this is. You can eat it just the way it is or cut up with cream or ice cream and even as a juice.

A strawberry is not a berry, but rather the part of the stem from the strawberry plant called 'fragaria' that has thickened.  We call it 'receptacles'.

Strawberries are healthy to eat and contains a lot of vitamin C.

New strawberry plants will have to be planted after a while since these plants will 'decline' and not give enough or good quality strawberries any more.

If you pick a strawberry, they will not ripen more like most fruits do, they will just become bad over time.  You also pick the strawberry with part of the stem still intact.

Strawberries are fruits that are easily attacked by bugs like the fruit fly who follows the sweet smell of the fruit and this fruit can also get all kinds of illnesses which is usually caused by fungus.  If you leave the strawberries in  sealed container for too long, they will get fungal growth on it very easily.

The strawberry plant is quite a strong plant which are able to grow in different circumstances and climates and you will find strawberries in many regions across the world.

Many foods are artificially flavoured with strawberries like ice cream and cake.
